Well, if Luke doesn't stop the Lor/Chris wedding, maybe Jess can stop the Log/Ror wedding. His chances of success aside, he does have a reputation for both interrupting her mistakes and breaking up her relationships.

Just had a really horrible thought - and an uninformed one because haven't seen season 6, but what if ASP just got so mad that she wasn't here for the last season that she decided to throw a spanner in the works and that's why she put Lor and chris together??

The season finale was actually written and shot (directed by her) before the decision had been made by her to leave the show.  At least, the official news came out quite a bit after the finale had been shot.  When she actually made the decision, I don't know.  But, from her interviews, it sounded like she negotiated until the very end.  So -- I'm guessing the finale was finished by then (just not aired yet).

I think the term 'serial monogamist' meant that he went all-in on every relationship and never cheated. It doesn't have to be long-term, and it seems he's invariably more committed than the girl he's in with.

Well, long term is relative.  But, yes, I do mean that he was a one woman guy.  But, I'm thinking he had to be with Anna at least long enough for Liz to be able to make the connection 11 years later.

However (just to give a break from the but's) if my math is correct, it seems that they might have included Rachel in the equation when they created Anna.  Going from I can gather from his conversation with Liz, and what Sookie and Miss Patty told Lorelai in Concert Interruptus, Anna came first then Rachel.  But, now I realize I'm not factoring in the time that passed since Rachel came to Stars Hollow.  And, I have a strange desire to figure it out, although I think most likely Rachel was not in their thoughts when they decided to make the character of Anna.

Okay, I did some math (which I hate -the things this show makes me do!) and I could be totally wrong, but if I'm right April would be born in 1993.  I mean, she celebrated her 13th birthday this year.  So, the relationship between Luke and Anna had to have ended sometime in 92.  Luke had a relationship with Rachel in 1995 (of course, we don't know if that's when the relationship was ending or was at its peak).  But, my calculations say that Anna came first, then Rachel, and it's quite possible that there was no overlap due to forgetting of canon.

Since we're talking about dates and math calculations...there is something I've always been confused about (maybe because I haven't paid attention) was when Lorelai and Rory came to Stars Hollow. I mean...it sure seems like Rory basically grew up there and there was never really any mention of them living anywhere else? (someone please correct me if I missed that detail) and in the episode with the inn owner Mia and when Emily went to visit Stars Hollow and saw where Lorelai had lived when she left with Rory made it seem like they found Stars Hollow pretty soon after she left. But then I'm confused on when exactly Lorelai and Luke met or became friends. I would have assumed that they may have been friends before 1995 if they did live in Stars Hollow for a long time but that doesn't seem like the case since Lorelai didn't know about Rachel. It could also be that Lorelai and Luke weren't really that great of friends back then but again, it is a small town and everyone seems to know the main figures in it. So if anyone can clarify this up for me...that would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I just need to rewatch some of the older episodes to get my answers.

And to be a little more on topic...I don't really want to see any weddings at the end of season 7 just because they are so overdone on shows...but I hope that both Gilmore girls are at a good place in terms of their romantic relationships. I think Rory and Logan would be too young to get married before the end of the season. Lorelai and Luke may get married but there would be need to be major mending before then.

I used to wonder the same thing, and then just came to the conclusion that perhaps Lorelai's world just didn't include going into town much , or frequenting the diner until rory was older.  When you think about it, she had to work at the Inn to pay for rent/board etc., and had to look after rory so that probably didn't leave her with much time to get out and befriend/mingle with the townsfolk....Just a thought

Yes, I think you're right honkifuluvGG.  I always assumed that Lorelai met Luke around the same time she bought her house.  Before that, they lived at the Independence Inn and might not've strayed far from it (I'm imagining Sookie giving them all their food Smiley).  Lorelai probably had enough money to buy the house when she was made manager.  At that point, she probably had enough money to frequent Luke's, too.

All good points you make there, Michelle isn't it?  You can call me honk for short if you like or Caryn its up to you.  Hadn't actually thought that her venture out into stars hollow might have coincided with the purchase of the house, but that makes perfect sense.  OK, I'm officially going to make all of that the back story in my head because I like it and it fits Grin *whack* and a pretty stick for you michelle for helping me to get there

Thanks, Caryn!  Smiley  And, yes, it's Michelle.  I don't know if it's the same backstory ASP had in her head, but I think it kind of fits.  Especially since Lorelai seems to have known Sookie the longest.

honkifuluvGG and wmushell, what you guys said makes sense. I guess I was just thinking how the details of that part of their history wasn't completely consistent throughout the show, but I guess its not that big of deal because since the beginning of the show, they've established how the town and the girls have come to have a great connection.

well, i get that all the time violetorchid (just kidding), but yeah it does fit and I think they've shown that with the types of almost impossibly high standards of personality that both lorelai and rory possess, they could easily have established these wonderful relationships with the stars hollow townsfolk

I think probably the just leaving her and not talking to her about his school problems.
Though I am a HUGE Milo fan, lol.  but I can understand that feeling.  but that was mostly the writers because he ws going to have a spin off and he would have been great to here if the spin off idea never came up.

Perhaps Jess will be good to her eventually (even if I am kind'a rooting for Logan), but I think it was a good thing for him to go away...

He definitely had to sort himut on his self own...

If he had stayed my guess is that everything even friendship would eventually have been destroyed between them
