I Get A SideKick Out of You:

On the night before Lane (Keiko Agena) and Zach (guest star Todd Lowe) get married, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory's (Alexis Bledel) plans for a bachelorette party go awry, as do the plans made by Zach's buddies, so the two groups end up together for a makeshift party in a vacant parking lot. Mrs. Kim (Emily Kuroda) informs Lorelai that she cannot attend Lane's wedding without an escort. Since Luke (Scott Patterson) is still out of town, Lorelai invites Christopher (David Sutcliffe) to be her date. Everyone attends two wedding ceremonies-one Buddhist and one Seventh Day Adventist-followed by a wild wedding reception in the town square.

Overall, this was an okay episode, though the Kim wedding wasn't as funny as I thought it would be.  Bowing to the Buddha just wasn't funny, and even the elder Mrs. Kim wasn't that funny, probably because I couldn't understand the exact words she was saying.  Perhaps one of the funniest moments: Lorelai calling to check up on the too-perfect babysitter.  Even that didn't make me laugh outloud.

As I expected, Chris ending up in Lorelai's bedroom wasn't filled with sexual inneundo.  Instead, I felt really bad for Lorelai because she embarrassed herself in front of the town.  For the first time, she didn't have anything witty to say.  What's worse, Chris had to be there to see it.  I kind of wish Luke had been there to see what he has been putting Lorelai through.

I didn't like Luke's absense in the episode.  Obviously the wedding took up much of the script, but it was as if he was off to Costa Rica jumping off a cliff.  A few shots of him and April doing stuff on their road trip might have been nice.

In all, the wedding didn't come off as funny as I thought it might, and Lorelai's desperate speech made me feel really bad in a way few of the episodes have made me feel.  Whenever L/L get back together again (and I mean really get back to what they had before April) I think I will cry out of sheer relief.

OMGOMG OMG...ok, now that, my friends, was a GG episode! Smiley
I loved the two weddings and the whole Mrs Kim hidding something from her mother, just like lane.  Halarious.  Too bad Luke wasn't in it.  Anyone know why he couldn't have been in it?  what did scott have to do?  oh well, overall, definitely a hit!

Oh I loved the weddings! They were so funny especially Kirk's thing about the Yummy Bartenders. Another tally mark under the numerous jobs of Kirk. And the whole thing about "I heard a pimp, but he sounded like he had a heart of gold." was hilarious.

Still, Lorelai's drunken speech made me sad for her.  Cry

I enjoyed this episode. It was a good one.

Michele dancing and ditching lor. for celine
Mrs Kim hiding her 7th day adventist(sp) stuff like the cross and such.
The talk about the wedding night and her facial expression.
Buiddhist weeding etc.

I feel sorry for Lor. We knew she would crack at some point but did it have to be at Lane's wedding with the whole town in attendance? it was annoying.

What happened to Mr. Kim and are we ever going to see him?

I'm beginning to think there is no Mr. Kim.  It would mean Mrs. Kim was a single mom just like Lorelai ... After seeing Lane's wedding without a Mr. Kim, I've decided there really is no Mr. Kim.  Next they'll be telling me there is no Santy Claus.

yeah, I did feel sad.  You could tell after she saw April and how EVERYONE gets to know her but herself.  That must be awful, so she tried to hide it by drinking shots.  Poor Lorelai.  And then Luke called.  I want to hit him over the head to knock some scense into him.

haha  yeah, mr. kim. I guess I forgot to mentin that in my last post.  Wanted to.  We had a little refrence to him with the who "at least I was lucky to only have to do it once".  I bet we will never know what happened to him, lol.  weird.

LG did such a great job, she made me so sad for Lorelai.  Why can't Luke see what is happening to her!  It's upsetting because in every season b4, he was always watching over her and now he's not.  She deserves better for all she's been through in her life.

Okay, a couple of things that made me laugh.  Michel dancing, and Mrs. Kim saying Lorelai coming unescorted would make people think she was a tramp on sale.

Well, usually it's when Emily does something that should have people angry at her that they write something so that the focus is off that.  This time they did it with Lorelai and the dress.  Mrs. Kim being too distracted.  And, yes the dress looked better, but my feelings about the act are the same.

Okay, I know it's too much for AS-P to write things seriously when she can sacrifice things for a joke.  I could maybe see Mrs. Kim hiding her cruxifices and other religions possessions from her mother (and I'd argue about that, seeing as how devout they portray Mrs. Kim as) but I can't see her bowing down to a Buddha.  I know it was supposed to be a joke at how much Mrs. Kim is really like Lane.

I just love the walk on actors they pull out for fake friends.  Two people we've never seen are part of Lane's bachelorette party.  Sort of like when Rory's birthday party had a couple of teenagers who were never seen before or since.  Unintentionally hilarious.

What did Christopher give Rory?  I'm guessing it was some kind of texting device, but I've never heard of it before.  And, hair still sucks.

If I didn't know that this episode was written way before I joined in the thread on alcohol on the show, I would think AS-P just had Lorelai looking for a bar and doing shots just to make me look stupid.

Um, I could see Rory wearing her consevative outfit for the weddings, but why was she in that thing she was wearing after the wedding, when everyone was supposed to be letting loose?  She could have worn that to the wedding and saved the sweater dress combo for the after party.

And, am I crazy, or wasn't there an episode way back that said Rory and Lane met much later than kindergarten?  I'm waffling between when they were 8 and when they were 11.

I think Lane looks better with her glasses, but she did look nice in the dress and veil.

I couldn't watch the embarrassing Lorelai drunk speech.  I can take a lot of things on tv, but I can't bear watching people make fools of themselves.

Yeah, it makes no scense, that his character completly changes and he becomes bind just because he has a kid.

grr. I missed that whole part. I watch it with my younger siblings, age 6 and 10, so we had to change it for fear that the discussion would be a little too adult for them. Cry

I forgot all about Michel!! "This is what you're up against!" too funny.

OH!!! Kyon and Brian together!! How awesome! Two Hep Alien members with Korean girls. lol

I liked it-my favorite things were Michele and his dancing!  Mrs. Kim giving Lane the "Wedding Night" talk-I agree her expressions were priceless.  Lorelai's speech was sad and it hit home how she is feeling about the whole April issue.

OKAY, I was sort of bothered by Mrs. Kim getting out the Buddhist stuff just because her mom was coming over. It was way ridiculous, and I just can't imagine Mrs. Kim ever doing that. I mean, she did, but I wouldn't have called it.

Oh Lorelai. I was burying my face in the pillow the minute she said she was going to make a toast. I really, really wish Luke was there, and maybe he'd finally see... because old Luke knows Lorelai and he would know just what to say, and he would know how to fix things. They just need to be fixed. Thankfully Lane and Zach weren't too phased.

But ohmygoodness, the two of them were adorable.

Lulu! The first time this season, after many mentions. Did anyone happen to spy her face though? Noooo, I think not!

Logan being hurt: I knew because of a spoiler, but I'm still not surprised. I wonder how bad it is? Weary

I'm glad to know that Chris and Lorelai didn't get involved this time around. I think Chris was a great friend, and that made me smile. I will kill them if they turn this into another way to break L/L up again though >:|

Eh, I feel a bit like this episode was too thrown out there. It felt unconnected. It didn't leave me happy at all.
