One more thing that seemed like an error. Lane is 22? I thought she and Rory were the same age, and a year couldn't have gone by since Rory's 21st birthday. Unless we should chalk that up to Lorelai being too drunk to get the age straight?
Well, Rory has a late birthday right (near the end of October or something) and I'm assuming that its maybe March or April (in the stars hollow time) so maybe Lane has an early birthday making her 22.

I liked the episode overall.....although i did seemed rather "rushed" to me. Too many commercials also. I kept having to pause my tivo then fast forward through what seemed like 10 million commercials.
Mrs. Kim and Grandma Kim- What a riot. Reminded me a lot of what Emily went through with Richard's mom. Hiding stuff, busting out all the buddhist stuff that was obivously stored away somewhere....It's funny after all the years of giving Lane a headache she got a taste of her own medicine. very cute.
Two Weddings-FUNNY! Very off the wall Stars hollow thing. I think Lane's wedding dress looked cute on her. Perfect mix of korean tradition with a splash of Lane Kim. Perfect.
I really liked Chris in this episode. I really like Chris in general ( dont snark me!!!!) and I love the connection between him and Lorelai. They are just so in sync with each other. Funny banter, good memories....I like how he was texting Rory with the sidekick, that was very cute. Telling her everything he was doing every second of the day. He was being very sweet with Lorelai during her drunken breakdown....I want Lorelai to be with Luke and all but Chris isnt so bad.
Oh yes....was anyone else like totally freaking out when Chris said Rory could be the one getting married next??!? AHHHHHHHHH I almost fell off my couch, no to mention Lorelai looked like she was going to throw up. WEIRD!!
I felt so so bad for Lorelai during her speech. The whole Luke-April sitatuon is getting to her so bad...I mean its making a normally very strong women fall apart!! She was so sad!!! its weird to me how alcohol can bring out with the truth in people. I felt awful for her....and breaking down in front of Chris and rory and the rest of town....thats awful.
and logan getting hurt....dont get me started. I have no words. I guess we will see how bad the idiot got hurt next episode. Logans really hott but man I find him so irratating!!!!
I got a "sidekick" out of this episode.....haha get it? alright im dumb but i could not resist

Sit by me. We'll like Christopher together and dodge the flying objects.
And, yes, the idea of Lane's birthday being earlier never occured to me. I'm not much of a math person. Obviously.

I like Chris too. If Luke is still stupid enough for Lorelai to break up with him, I wouldn't mind her going back to Chris. He's better than all of the other boyfriends she's had. Besides Luke: the early days.

Okay where to I start. It was an OK episode. I think it was like 3/4 shows thrown into one, but at the same time I feel like it went really slow. I kept checking the status on my VCR to see how much time was left. As for the first 50 minutes that mostly dragged the last 10 went way too fast.
They've foreshadowed an accident in Costa Rica, I didn't see it coming though. Rory will stand by her man and this will only bring them closer together. This will also help him mature a bit, what I'm curious about is how much his 'friends' will stay with him. I'm a spree, but I'm predicting that they won't be supportive and Rory will be like the only one sticking with him. He will be of no use anymore to the LDB and how could he EVER represent his father in London? As a gimp, he would be of no use to his abusive father. I know those not fond of Logan will like this possiblitiy, but I think the results of this might not be to your liking, let just see what happens.
Lorelai. Wow! I didn't start the alcohol thread because I knew about this episode, it is just a coincidence. I'll share my thoughts there later. I wanted to cry for her once she got going. Why didn't Rory & Chris intervene sooner, this was low. I really think it was the picture with April that set her off. Luke is bound to find out about what she said eventually because her speech was definitely not in private, practically the whole county heard her.
OK, I really like the Mrs. Kim plot. Poor her! It was a mother like daughter show and it made sense where Lane learned how to do it all. I really wish there would have been subtitles, though we can all insert our own translations. WHO SPEAKS KOREAN??
Michel was so funny in the episode, he's so got it for Celine Dion. I wonder if she'd ever cameo on the show...
And what we have all learned from this episode..,we all know that KIRK is not a man!

I don't know. I get the feeling Logan will be in bad shape for an episode or two, and then make a complete recovery.

I totally missed the first twenty or so minutes of the show, so if anyone wants to fill me in, that would be fabulous! (I came in as Lorelai and Christopher were arriving at the wedding.)
This episode evoked a lot of conflicting emotions in me. I don't think I've ever pitied Lorelai as much as I did during that speech, not even when she was bawling on the phone to Luke during their breakup. I was kind of confused as to why Rory and Chris didn't take her off the stage sooner, but I guess if they had it wouldn't have been so completely pitiful.
I'm not a huge Chris fan, and I usually get mad because he always comes around to ruin things between Luke and Lorelai, but I really liked him in this episode. He wasn't trying to push his way in or anything; he was just being supportive of Lorelai, and at the end when Luke calls and we see Chris sitting by the bed, my heart kind of melted. Poor Chris. And poor Lorelai. Luke? Well, he's getting none of my pity. I'll be really curious to see the fallout from this episode, assuming there will actually be some.
I definitely agree that the episode felt rushed. So much crammed in this episode, whereas others have felt like nothing happens.
I also think they are probably making the Logan thing look more serious than it will turn out to be. I agree with Dani that they'll milk it for a couple episodes, and then he'll be fine.

Probably true about Logan. He is a young & strong guy. They usually bounce back...wait wrong words, he didn't quite bounce did he?!!
Oh, about the dress. After all of the discussion in the past episode thread, I think it worked out okay. THe wedding dress was cute and I loved the variation for the reception. At my reception we bustled up the dress and it was so much easier. This was just Lorelai's version of a bustle, and it was so cute. I loved seeing the band with her in her dress & Zach in the Buddist gown. That was cool.

Very funny!
Erin, the first part of the episode detailed the lead-up to the wedding, and included Lorelai trying to find a date after Mrs. Kim essentially told her she'd look like a whore if she came alone (these unmarried women, apparently) and Michel bailed on her because he had front row tickets to Celine Dion. Rory had been text-messaging Chris on her new Sidekick, and Chris became Lorelai's last minute date for the wedding.
We saw some amusing stuff in the Kim household, namely Mrs. Kim preparing for her mother's visit. This included hiding all evidence of God and bringing in all evidence of Buddha (because apparently the Mrs. Kim-Mrs. Kim relationship is much like the Mrs. Kim-Lane relationship).
I'm sure I'm missing a lot, but this is the Reader's Digest version. Hopefully if I've missed anything key, someone will fill it in for me!

I haven't seen this episode yet, I was at religion, and I won't be able to see it until Thursday (my parents taped it for me). However, I read every post and have some general things to add.
When you have watched Gilmore Girls as much as I, and many of you have, you eventually have to come to terms with the fact that, although she is my hero, AS-P, is pretty sloppy. She clearly never re-watches the show, or rereads past scripts, because she tends to change things later. For example, Mr. Kim. I tried to ignore it for a while, but not anymore. Mr. Kim is real (I called the airline to confirm it, and my parent
s
were in their room whispering all morning.-Lane in Sadie, Sadie) I think they should have just pretended he died, because Mrs. Kim couldn't be divorced, and Lane couldn't be a love child because then she would be a hypocrite.
Second. Lane is not 22. That's a mistake. The only way is if she was held back in school, because Rory's b-day in November (according to Season 1) or October (Season 6) could be early or late, but she's early. (If it was late, she would have just turned 20). It was clearly sloppiness on the writers end OR they rounded, because she will be 22 in 5 months (at the earliest).

! I'm pretty-sticking you! Just one thing: how did the dress issue get resolved?
I also wanted to add that I love, love, LOVED that Brian and Kyon made out at the reception! Nikki and I totally called that relationship back in season 5, so when all the interaction between them in this episode happened, I was so stinkin' excited!

For all you who like Chris, I'm on your boat. He was very admirable in this episode. The cutest part was seeing him with the sidekick and Rory.. He really DOES love her and care about her. I felt so bad for him when he left after Luke called. It had to be a weird moment for him.
Rory and Logan: Theres going to be some quick maturing going on in that relationship. Experiences like that do make you a bit more mature.

Basically it got ignored. Mrs. Kim was so distracted by the news of her mother's arrival that she didn't even notice the changes. And, later, all she said was, "it looks different."

Kirk doesn't count!!
Is Troy yummy enough?
The Foot Loose reference.
LOL!
Another great episode. The sad thing is Luke is going to hear about Loreli's toast. It's going to hit the fan. I really didn't care about Logan.
Am I a bad person? I only cared about what was going to happen between Loreli and Chris.

I loved this episode. Mrs. Kim was great. I was disappointed that there was at least no reference to Mr. Kim's absence from the wedding. Poor Lorelai though. She was bound to crack eventually.
