I like Chris. If there wasn't a Luke, I would like to see Lorelei back with Chris.  But, now that Lorelei is with Luke, I don't think he has any more power over Lorelei other than as a friend and father to Rory.  I got the impression, he was recently rich and not from an inheritance. He sounded proud, like he finally accomplished something. It makes sense that he would want to share some of it with Rory.  He should at least pay her tuition.  And, he should pay Lorelei back child support...but, I doubt Lor will accept any $$ from Chris.  She would worry about Luke's opinion and would not want him to get jealous again.

I think it is time Emily learned that she can have a relationship with Lorelei and Rory without $$$ being involved.  That is why I would like Chris to pay Rory's Yale tuition, and (wishful thinking on my part) Friday night dinners continue just because.  Or perhaps, Lorelei invites Emily and Richard to dine with her and Rory at the Inn.  Can you imagine how Emily will react to April !!! 

I think Lorelei will understand about April; as long as Luke doesn't try and keep her a secret.  I think he will be in shock for a couple of episodes.  It sounds like April's mother wasn't sure who the father was...And, sounds like a casual fling on Luke's part, or else he would have known she was preggers!  This plot will give Luke a better understanding of Chris in Lorelei's life.  I think Luke will not want to rush into the wedding until he has adjusted to being a Dad.  He will want to play a part in April's life. 

I am not too upset about this plot twist.  I was getting a bit bored with the show.  But, I want this to bring Luke and Lorelei closer and not cause conflict.

I love the fact that Lorelai and Luke are finally together and their relationship has been going along so well... But this season needs to spice up a bit and I think making Christopher come back might be just what the series needs to make it back to what it was, funny, exciting.. suspense!!

My guess about Chris (based only on the trailer, not spoilers) is that he is going to offer to pay for Rory to go to Yale.  Whether on not she accepts, I dunno.  But if you think about it, Lorelai and Rory are both not on the best terms with the grandparents as of now.  That could mean they wouldn't want to deal with anymore Friday Night Dinners.  Especially Rory, since she's the only one who technically HAS to come...and she is just discovering what Lorelai has been talking about all these years with Emily.

Yeah, I think that's a very likely option.  The only thing about that is that if Rory stops going to Friday night dinners, we would be seeing a lot less of Richard and Emily because it would be harder to get them all together without the pretense of the dinners.  But yeah, I can definitely see Chris offering to pay for Yale.

That's also what I was worrying about.  They're definitely not going to cut Emily and Richard out of the show, so maybe there will be some other reason why Lorelai and Rory have to see them.  Not a clue what it could be, though.

I can see Chris offering to pay for Yale but I'm not too sure if the girls will take it.  Part of me hopes they won't.  I don't want them to be like "Well, the g-rents were paying, and then Rory caused a fussed with them and we're mad at them, so that's going to be hairy... this is easier!  And now we can avoid them!  Yay!"  Plus if they think this money won't have obligations (unwritten most likely, though, unlike emily's obligations) they're kidding themselves.  Last I checked the girls weren't happy with Chris because of the debacle at the vows.  So are they going to take his money and continue to shut him out?  Are they going to take his money and then make nice because of it?  Sounds sleazy either way, and I don't really want them to be sleazy.

And while I wish the girls could have a non-obligatory relationship with Emily and Richard, I don't like the idea of them ditching the g-rents when they don't need their money.  It would be treating them like trash, like they've only been using them.  Plus it will validate what Emily has always said.  Remember when Lorelai paid them back for Chilton?  Or when Gran was going to leave them money?  While I don't want the girls to just play into her wishes, I don't want her to be able to say "see I'm right!"  I want them to show her that they can have a relationship without money and without any terms.

I'm not sure what the best outcome is going to be, so we'll see!

I don't think Lorelei will take any money and other than Yale might ask to put the money in a trust for Rory rather than giving her any more than Yale tuition (just my opinion).  I think Lorelei will try to work out a regular dinner thing with Emily and Richard and will at least try and get Rory to apologize if she doesn't do it on her own.   But,  Emily always makes things harder for them - she always needs to try to control.  So, I am not sure what they will really end up doing with this story line, but, I think Lor will make an effort to fix the relationship with her mother. 

It would be nice for them to not have money in the way.

I just saw a preview clip with Chris and Lorelei.  I don't think this is a Spoiler as it was in a posted clip. If it is, let me know and I will move it where it needs to be.

Anyway, the clip indicates that Chris's money is inherited.  I was hoping he had earned it. Oh well. I wanted to see Chris succeed on his own. 

In any case, I agree and I think Lorelei will not take any of Chris's money for herself.  I think Rory should and will accept money for Yale.  Lorelei has never wanted Rory to accept money from the Gilmores and to be under their control.  Rory was better off before she made the 'deal with the devil' (Emily).  Not that Emily is a 'devil', she just acts like one sometimes. 

Chris is Rory's father, he hasn't done much to help her because he couldn't, but, now he can and he should.  Yale is expensive.  He should help. Rory should accept the money, payback the grandparents with a courteouse thank-you (which will make Emily annoyed no matter what) and use the rest to pay for Yale. 
 
I can't see Lorelei accepting too much money because of Luke.  But, really she should get some because Chris never paid child support.  Luke shouldn't care, but, he will - - unless, he gains new understanding because of April.

I also think that  Lorelei needs to reach out to her parents trying to build a relationship without money held over her head. Perhaps invite them to the Inn for the holidays....

Christopher's money is inherited? I was hoping that he at least earned it...buh either way. Rory should take the money for Yale, nd make peace with the grandparents. Lorelai however..shouldnt use any of the money. Chris would probroli offer. buh i doubt Lorelai will accept due to Luke. I wouldnt want the show to cut Emily nd Richard..so Lorelai would probroli force Rory to apoligize..being the adult nd all. telling her that they did take yoo in when yoo had no place to go. Nd they may set up dinners without strings attached.
i am not really interested in seeing chris back again..mostly cuz its i hate him. buh he always tends to bring drama nd since we already have a very soapy drama going on. i dnt this to add on to it...

Okay, I watch the show, but my wife doesn't know that I do.  She thinks I am reading a book while she watches, but I'm really not.

Here's the scoop.  I personally don't want Luke and Lorelei to break up.  Each Tuesday is an anxiety.  The way I figure, Luke bought that ring that he still hasn't shown to Lorelei yet.  So no matter what happens with Luke's new daughter, everything is going to end up alright with him and Lorelie, right?  Maybe they get into a fight about him keeping this a secret, but in the end, at the right unexpected romantic moment (I can't believe I just wrote that) he will show the ring, right?  I mean, I really don't want othem to break up.

Now I know that some here may think otherwise about Luke and Lorelie's relationship, and that is cool.  But....well, I really don't want them to break up.  So whatever hopes you can give me, I sure would appreicate it.  Thanks.  But I know, I know --  A guy watching this show....Beats me, too.

1) There's actually a fair number of guys who watch the show.  And who visit this forum.  I think there's even a thread in the General Forum for the guys who watch GG (I'm NOT saying you are restricted to that thread!  just if you want to bond with others in your predicament).

2) Luke bought and gave the ring to Lorelai in the same episode.  And we've seen Lorelai wearing the ring ever since.  Emily saw it at Rory's birthday party, and today when Chris noticed it at the restauarant.

3) It sounds like you are a Java Junkie (fan of Luke and Lorelai being together).  There's a thread to bond with others of the same ilk in the Cast and Characters forum.

I think it is a mini-hiatus of one week. Off one week, then one new episode. Then the real hiatus.  But, I could be mistaken.

Yeah for the men who watch this show!  It shows that they are romantics at heart    Too bad that Robert has to pretend to read a book while watching. He would have caught that Lorelei already has the ring.  But, I agree with him that Luke and Lorelei will likely stay together even if they argue about his delay in telling her about April.

I think being able to admit yoo like this show when yoor a guy is so cool. who cares what others think right? its yoor life nd its yoor thing.  btw i thought the haitus was for 6 weeks. the next episode is in jan 10th right? i hope i am wrong. i am really gonna miss seeing gg for 6 weeks!
