The Nag Hammadi library (popularly known as The Gnostic Gospels) is a collection of early Christian Gnostic texts discovered near the town of Nag Hammadi in 1945. That year, thirteen leather-bound papyrus codices buried in a sealed jar were found by local peasants. The writings in these codices comprised fifty-two mostly Gnostic tractates (treatises), but they also include three works belonging to the Corpus Hermeticum and a partial translation / alteration of Plato's Republic. The codices are believed to be a library hidden by monks from the nearby monastery of St Pachomius when the possession of such banned writings denounced as heresy was made an offense.

Since the episode was aired in February of 2004 I think its safe to post here... this is the episode where Jess comes back to get his car, and tells Rory that he loves her.  Maybe that was the title because Jess and Rory both love to read and this shows that since those texts were around for so long, Jess's love for Rory will survive as long as those gosples did?  I don't know if missusmariano has a better answer.  But that would be my thought.

I also love how the episode titles are worked into the dialog.  They can even be in the middle of some comversation, yet they have deeper meanings and are almost always said in converstaions.

first episode of this season : The Long Morrow..
in the episode when Rory explains the rocketship Logan left for her:

RORY: And this episode of "the twilight zone" came on -- "the long morrow."
LORELAI: That's a bad title.
RORY: That's not the point.
LORELAI: I'm just saying.

lol neat. Smiley
its neat when you are watching the episode and they say the title, because noramlly they say it somewhere in the episode, but just in passing. lol  like "oy with the poodles already"

the other day my dad said the title of some episode (Tippecanoe and Taylor, Too ...)...I never understood it, but apparently it was I think a president's slogan or a phase he said or something, lol.  anyways, I was just like WOOH, now I know that! haha

Your dad probably said "Tippecanoe and Tyler Too" because it was the Presidential slogan for William Henry Harrison (the hero of "The Battle of Tippecanoe" in 1811) and John Tyler the vice-president candidate.  But yeah, thats where it comes from.  Smiley

I love the many bizarre and creative ep titles. But especially in the early seasons, it's funny to see others with generic titles.

Rory's Dance
Cinnamon's Wake
Rory's Birthday Parties
Christopher Returns
Road Trip To Harvard

Yep, no question what these eps are about! These are mostly classic episodes and i wonder if ASP spent all her creative energy on the script, with nothing left over for the title!

The first time Jess comes to Stars Hollow the title of the epsiode is like "Nick and Nora, sid and nancy"
Can anybody explain to me how that ties into the epsiode?
