Okay, so at first I Hated this ep. but then I realized this is like the set up/ closure ep. First I did laugh a lot in the ep, L&L and the bag, the dream, Ms. Kim and the wedding dress. I loved that April called Luke dad, that was great. But the Jess & Rory thing bothered me. I thought it seemed really oddly set up, but then I realized what it was. ASP was just letting everyone know that Jess made it and he was great and life was good. Luke and him were good and jess really appreciates all he did and pays him back. Then we now know that nothing is ever going to happened between Jess and Rory, she loves logan. It seems like a mean way to do it, but I don't think that we ever see Jess again, that chapter in Rory life is not closed. ASP provided all Jess lovers closure. I am so excited to see what happens next.... R&L, I have a feeling that something big is going to happen between them, seemed to forshadow it in this ep. L&L too.

Well, I think after last week I was thinking “well the bright side is next week should be better, because it can’t get worse than this, can it?”  But I was wrong.  Maybe this week wasn’t WORSE, but it definitely wasn’t better.

1:
Rory, you’re still a friggin idiot.  I was pissed at you before for getting back together with Logan when you are so clearly (and rightly) mad at him.  But that fact that you still believe you are in love with him?  What the schmuck?  All I can see is disgust and hatred.  You can’t stand to be in the apartment with him, you can’t stand to see him for a meal, you can’t even stand to look at him.  When is it that you love him?

Usually when women are in love with a jerk, they do one of two things.  (a) They vent to their friends about all the jerky things their men do, but when they are actually face to face with the jerk they melt and are all “aww, but I love him, so it’s ok.” Or (b) their friends try to make her see that too much of her man’s personality is jerky, but all she’ll do is defend him because she loves him.  Not that I admire either behavior, but I can at least believe that the woman loves her man, as stupid as that love might be.  But I don’t even see this level with Rory.  Does she just think she’s supposed to love him and doesn’t realize that she doesn’t?

While I think Rory was being petty with all the passive aggressive stunts she pulled on Logan, I still get why she is doing it.  He has in NO WAY validated her feelings of betrayal.  There was nothing like “While I know you now understand how I truly did believe we were broken up at the time so we agree that my actions weren’t technically ‘cheating’, I realize you still feel hurt and betrayed by my actions.  What can I do from here to help you trust me again.”  It was simply “in my mind I didn’t cheat on you, so you can’t feel betrayed.”  It would be a lot less stupid if she would just SAY why she’s still pissed at him, but apparently the writers have given everyone on the show a lobotomy.

And are we supposed to believe that Rory was actively trying to cheat on Logan and couldn’t go through with it, or that the kiss just happened and then she pulled away and then was disgusted with herself for not being able to treat him as crappy as he treats her?  I don’t get it.

2:
Logan, you’re an arse hole.  To anyone who feels differently from what I am about to say and chooses to reply to this post, please know that the one excuse I will not entertain is “he’s new to relationships.”  I am happy to discuss differences of opinions, and I think I do it civilly, but that is the one excuse I will not accept, so don’t waste your own time.  Anyways…

Yes, Logan, Rory is doing a bunch of stupid passive aggressive crap that I hate too.  But you’re being a baby because you expected everything to be wiped away, all forgiven.  Logan didn’t sound like “oh man, she hasn’t forgiven me yet, what else should I do?”  He sounded angry with her, like “Excuse me, you were supposed to forgive me and you haven’t.  What’s your problem?  Get with it!”  Must… kill… fictional… character!

And really, I didn’t think Rory was being over bitchy about the LaDB plan.  She was being bitchy at home and at the paper, but she sounded genuinely concerned about the stunt and not like she was grasping at any reason she could find to nit pick and put it down.  So Logan’s embarrassment crap is just crap.  Logan was being overly defensive to her initial comments because her behavior earlier made him expect her to be bitchy, and plus he still hadn’t expressed his bitterness about that stuff yet so it was just looking for an outlet, anything to get mad at.  So when Logan dismissed her concerns she stood up for them more aggressively, partly I’m sure because she’s sick of having her feelings be dismissed and invalidated by him, and thus the argument in front of guests occurred.

3:
Luke, I mostly hate you at the moment.  I can’t believe you formally introduced Jess to April before Lorelai.  That just sucks.  How sad did Lorelai look when he said Jess was going to meet April.  And I know Luke didn’t know Rory would be there, so he’s excused for that.  But now that Rory has met her, Luke better step it up as far as introducing Lorelai goes or else I’m seriously going to lay the hate on.  Hopefully the fact that he very awkwardly referred to Lorelai when he was introducing Rory will clue him into the fact that the situation is stupidly weird and there’s a good way to fix it.

I have to say one of my favorite moments of this episode was when April was explaining to Luke how she liked Freddy.  Every time she said “Don’t look at him!” I aww-ed and laughed.  And I also loved their geek song to the tune of the Major General’s song (Pirates of Penzance, 8th grade musical right here.  I was a Tarantara-ing policeman… I went to an all girl’s school).  I still know how to sing the Fifty Nifty United States, so I have an appreciation for geek songs.

4:
You can’t really fault Rory too much for being a passive aggressive brat after you watch her mom a bit.  Even before she started bashing Anna’s bag all over the place, Lorelai couldn’t have been more transparent about her displeasure. She was practically shouting “If she’s going to give you a bag, then I get to give you a bag” when she was arguing with him over the garment bag.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m on Lorelai’s side of this crap.  It hurts to see your significant other make a valiant effort to turn you down while going “oh, ok” when it’s someone else.  I mean, when Anna gave him the one bag his stance was “well, it’s here, so…” but when it’s Lorelai’s bag that’s here, he hauls out any excuse he can think of to refuse it until she wears him down.

I was very displeased with Lorelai for dumping coffee on the wedding dress.  I know it was supposed to be funny… Lane was asking her to destroy it and Lorelai still thought she could do something with it, and then when she saw it was hopeless she gave in to Lane.  But seriously… this isn’t just some dress that MamaKim picked out for Lane that was fugly.  This was her OWN wedding dress.  You know, the kind that comes complete with sentimental attachment and such?  I think that was incredibly disrespectful, not to mention stupid because how is she supposed to avoid the wrath of MamaKim after that?

5:
God help me, I found myself agreeing with Emily this episode.  When they were in the diner and Lorelai was explaining why she doesn’t socialize with April, I was right with Emily when she was saying how Lorelai and Luke were getting married which means a union of two lives, so she doesn’t get to be segregated from certain things.  That’s how I’ve felt about it all along.  Granted Emily thought this was Lorelai’s choice because she didn’t want to deal with it instead of Luke keeping Lorelai out, but the core of the message is still the same.  TWO lives becoming one, not 1.5 lives becoming one.

wait. Who else had a child they didn't know about? Huh?

O ya and I mean "Like Mother Like Daughter."
Does anyone else see the not saying how your feeling and holding it all in trait being passed around here?

Emily never says when she's mad at Richard, Lorelai isn't letting Luke know how hurt she is by the whole April deal, and now Rory isn't saying anything about how she truly feels to logan.

Just my thoughts.

i didnt mind the epsiode.

yes, i agree..Rory and Logan's relationship needs some work..or needs to end. I honestly think that Logan deserves a bit of credit too..no matter how much i dislike him. I mean, Rory had no right to just take away his news story the way she did. I understand she was mad, and wanted the paper done on time.. but she's letting out-side-of-work feelings take over i think. She's favoring. I mean, Logan had that information all prepared too, and he was ready to do it properly. And besides, Rory even let paris have those Fruit FLies or whatever. Uh..i just...errr it bothered me how immature Rory can be.

I do love Rory though-- no disrespect. She's just acting stupid righ tnow.  Angry

Luke/Lorelai..i liked it at the beginning of the episode! i thought Lorelai slamming the bag around was actually quite cute. I know it was supposed to be a sign to luke or whatever that she was upset.. but she just looked hilarious doing it. Oh, and honestly, Caesar was so hilarious in that scene. gotta love Caesar.

I also think it was really cute how L&L said good bye. When luke said (something like) "i've gotta say goodbye to my girl" and "im gonna call you everyday"

that just reminded me of the way they were.. i miss that so much.

And finally.. Emily is so correct. i absolutely agree with her. Its already been explained why she was so correct, and i agree with what was said.. so im not gonna repeat it. It was also so cute when she was playing Go Fish with Sissy (sp?)

anyways, i really just wanted to comment that i like the goodbye between L&L.

Oh, and I absolutelyyy loved April in this episode. Her character is starting to grow on me..

And yes, i agree. Jess did look exessively attractive last night  Wink

yeah. milo ventimiglia wants his Jess character killed off. Not necessarly death, but he doesnt want to be on the show regularly anymore, so they cant make Jess & Rory together.

NO.  Absolutely, positively, not everyone loves or wants Jess and Rory together.  There are many things I don't want to happen on this show, and that is one of them.  I just erased a whole long section of this post explaining why since it's long and beyond the scope of the episode.  But, please, don't just casually say everyone wants anything, because you'll find that it's probably never true.

I may have overreacted.  It's just every time someone says everyone or no one feels a certain way, it's about the very thing I personally feel the opposite of.

I was really hoping Rory and Jess could have evolved into being friends.  They were two teenagers, and they might have been in love, but I didn't see it as some love that spans distance and time, and all that stuff.  Rory gets to get over Jess.  She might have thought that there was something there, which is why she was willing to use him to cheat on Logan, but she found out that there wasn't.  She's not in love with Jess, and she's not harboring any feelings for him. Which is why she couldn't go through with it, because she knew it wasn't about Jess at all.  Everything she did was about Logan.  Why can't Jess be allowed to move on as well?  Why does he have to hold some torch for Rory, through their lives diverging, through him making his life a success, even living in a different state?  Jess can stand on his own as a character. Out of all of Rory's boyfriends, I think he's the only one who can, and I'd like him to.  Not as "poor guy who didn't get the girl."  But, as a guy whose life is fine and rich and wonderful without Rory as his girlfriend.

All my opinion.

I dont get how everyone says Logan is mean and a jerk to Rory. I think he was truly genuinely sorry for his indiscretions. And I thought HE was the one being treated like sh!t in this episode! I'm glad Rory was able to stand up and pull away instead of sinking to a lower level. I think it definitely showed some maturity and devotion there. I was definitely a bit mad that Jess tried to kiss her off the bat like that.

I was, however, touched, by Luke really "bonding" with his daughter.. he seems to be a good dad, so far Smiley
