Ohh yeah! I seem to remember him in that show. It's Lane Boyfriend Sydrome I guess (like Dave Rygalski to come).

The whole basket thing is pretty cute...I think it was sad Dean didn't have the money to buy Rory's basket.... but paying $100.00 for something that Rory/Lorelai Gilmore made ? INSANE!!! Dean should have known that Rory is a huge stickler to Rules. She wouldn't have just said no, I wont go have the picnic to the person who won the bid.. Thats the rules! I wonder if there was a rule against Dean going aswell though... I mean he seems to be ok in the chaperone position of warding off all Rory admirers... What turned out was more interesting and eventful though, so no complaints

i really liked the l/l moments in is ep
LORELAI: Yes. And I don’t know, it’s a nice concept.
LUKE: What is?
LORELAI: Just haing someone who you love or have some kind of crazy crush on bid on your basket and then share a romantic lunch, it’s a nice concept.
LUKE: Well, I’m sure someday you’ll manage to find the right guy and drag him out to this thing and make him by your stupid basket and then you’ll be sitting out here with him.
LORELAI: Yeah, someday.

I really disagree with a lot of the previous posts that say Dean is acting like a baby. After all, he's still in a full-fledged relationship with Rory and she should have cared a lot more that he was hurting. He's not being paranoid -- after all, look at what ends up happening later (Rory officially treating Dean like dirt [Lorelai's words, not mine] when she drags out her relationship w/ Dean even though she really likes Jess). I love Milo, and the Jess character has evolved since this episode. However, at the time it was really wrong of Rory spend time with Jess and call him at the end of the episode when she had a boyfriend. Also, Rory was horrible to Lorelai when Lorelai gave her some good advice. Love Luke & Lorelai in this episode.

I don't know if Dean had caught on that Rory was starting to like Jess in this episode. I'm not sure when he was on Lorelai's steps saying Rory likes Jess. But, he certainly was noticing that Jess was getting interested in Rory, and worse, was actively trying to drive a wedge through them. And, it was pretty juvenile of Jess to bid on the basket. I didn't have a problem with Jess and Rory spending time together. She doesn't have to stay away from all guys. But, there's a difference from seeing him at the diner, or even running into him at the bookstore and doing something that's more a couples thing. Jess bought the basket specifically to get a rise out of Dean. Plus, it was clear that the basket thing was mainly for couples. Boyfriends would buy the basket of their girlfriends. It wasn't a rule, but it was understood. Knowing that Jess was trying to annoy him, and that Jess was getting interested in Rory, I don't blame Dean for being upset.

wow.. a cute episode. The whole idea was nice. I loved how Dean overreacted so much when Jess bought the basket. I was so happy Rory wanted to go with him. If my boyfriend reacted like that over something so stupid and little. I think i would dump him. If rory was smart in this episode she would have too. Overall i really enjoyed it.

Okay I adore Jess and everything, but Dean had every right to be upset. It was so obvious that Jess was into Rory, Dean being overprotective was justified. He was beginning to lose Rory, and he knew it. I don't blame him for trying to keep her away from him. He's just human. Loved the Jess/Rory scenes though and the really cute Luke/Lorelai ones. "Ernest only has lovely things to say about you" is one of my favorite lines.

I felt sorry for Dean. He didnt have enough money but Jess did. I think it was wrong of Jess to do that. I like him now, but it was still wrong. Poor Rory liked Jess and wanted to go with him, but Dean was her boyfriend so it was a hard choice. If I was her, I would choose Dean. I cant believe she wasnt smart enough to see that there woud be trouble following this.

I liked this episode alot.
I love how Luke had to come and buy Lorealai's basket;; and he knew exactly what was in it ((2 stale poptarts and a slim jim)) and then they had lunch together.
I thought the littler lunch with Jess//Rory was really sweet ((huge fan of Jess//Rory relationship)). It was really funny when he tried the food she brought and she told him that Dean wouldve never fallen for that.
I kinda felt bad for Dean;; but I mean he knows how much Rory is into the whole town thing. But it was sad he couldnt afford to buy the basket :[
I kinda thought Rory was a little mean to get so mad that Lorelai and Dean talked..
It cracked me up when Kirk made Jackson pay for the basket with a payments of crinkle-cut carrots.
yay
jackson proposed..it thought that was really cute :

i wouldn't really call dean a baby in this episode. he just didn't want another guy hanging around with rory. dean was being too overprotective though. he needs to trust rory.
i didn't really like the way jackson proposed to sookie. all he did was say "i think we should get married." that wasn't really asking her. i think he could have done it better that's all.
