Wash your face every night. It doesn't have to be fancy. Sometimes I use St. Ives Apricot scrub, or just plain old soap.

Best Foundation: Dream Matte Mousse! For the make-up impared (me), this stuff is so easy to use and stays on. I just dab a with dash of pressed powder over it and I'm done. Sometimes I dab on a quick bit of concealer.

Mascara: open your eyes wide, and if you have wide eyes, don't be afraid to add a little more! I stay away from eye shadows, personally. They don't do me any favors

Lips: occasional quick balm/gloss. I hate dramatic colors. I can go for muted deep colors, though with lipstick. Rarely.

Edit: Ohhh, and if you have blemishes or scars, just dab some Vitamin E oil on it every night. Goes away in a snap Wink

Another beauty tip:

Before waxing (or shaving, if you do) it is better to have a warm bath or shower. It helps to exfoliate the skin and makes the process of waxing easier, and less painful. After doing it, it is better to use some product to hydrate the skin; it should be softer.
My granma always tells me that after waxing or shaving, i should spread lemon juice all over the skin... but I never dared to do it because I think it hurts. If you`ve ever done it, tell me how it feels!

I have oily skin, so I use Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser. My face becomes super clean after using it! I haven't found my perfect lotion yet, since most lotions stimulate oil on my skin, even the oil-free lotions.  Sad  I currently don't use any lotion and my face is OK.

I use Neutrogena RapidClear Ance Treatment Pads in the morning and before I go to bed, they work really well. Also, I use petroleum jelly (vaseline) for chapped lips, they're moisturized almost instantly.

Garlic, I was once told that it's good for you and I'm sticking with it because as weird as it sounds I love it. Eating it raw...hmm. At least now you all know I'm not a vampire.

ETA: I think this can stay on. It technically should be in the Off Topic thread but for now...it's fine.

Yeah, a couple of days ago I wasn't feeling so good, and a dear friend of mine told me that I should eat a little raw garlic everyday.  It has helped me out alot!  It also keeps my boyfriend away when I don't feel like conversating with him (LOL).  I don't like the taste that much, but it makes my mind, body and spirit feel better for some odd reason.

I forgot who wrote about stretch marks, but I'm gonna start using it everyday, from now on.  After gaining 80 lbs when I was pregnant, was not great, and my origanal weight was 100 lbs-so I got alot to get rid of.  Thank you all.

If you dye your hair and get the dye on your skin, dip a cotton ball in milk and rub the cotton ball on the dyed skin. It will come off easily.

I don't know if this is a beauty tip, but whenever you have a cold, and you have to blow your nose a lot, if you put Vassilean at the bottom of your nose it really helps the irritation tissues cause.  It also helps with dry lips, though usually on the outer part when your lip meets your face because it dosn't tase too good if its on your actual lips.

i love alexis bledel's eyelashes. They're never spidery or dry and flakey. i was just wondering ifff anyone has any tips on how to get the "alexis bledel" or "rory" eye, even without how the beautiful aqua eyes  Cheesy

Chapped lips? Put some vitamin e (i use a gel like form) on your lips before bed. In the morning, you're lips are perfect again.

I don't have the patience to read through all three pages, so pardon me if I doubled someones suggestion.

  • Wash your make-up brushes/applicators once a week in warm, soapy water. Be sure to use a bar soap without a lot of frills. Dial works well
  • Pitch your make-up brushes/applicators when needed. For brushes, this is when the bristles start falling out. For sponges, this is every month. For sponge brushes (like used for eyeshadow) it's when the sponge gets grainy, or loose on the stick
  • No make-up should be applied with fingertips except for gloss and lipstick.
  • Don't pat powder over lipstick to mattify it. It'll dry out your lips.
  • If your lips are dry and flaky, slather them in olive oil for five minutes, to moisturize. Then you rub sugger, to exfoliaate. Wipe or rinse them off and apply a light, waxy balm under your lipstick/gloss.
  • Don't use super shiny or sticky lip glosses, since they dry lips out.
  • When applying blush, go with a blush that won't add too much color (no need to look sunburned) and smile while applying it. Apply it to the apples of your cheeks and blend it out and up, toward your temples.
  • Drink plenty of water, at least 64 ounces a day.
  • Don't touch your face.
  • Don't play with acne. For pustules, you can put a paper towel over it and press on it from either side lightly, through the papertowel. If it doesn't 'pop' with the pressure it takes to push a key on the average keyboard, dab it with tea tree oil. If it does 'pop', dab it with Neosporin. Don't squeeze long enough to cause bleeding.
  • One part honey, two parts powdered milk, one part puree'd apricot, one part sugar and one part water makes a lovely facial scrub for sensitive skin.
  • Instead of using an alcohol based toner or astringent, use witch hazel. Also, only use it if you have incredibly oily skin, and only on the oily parts.
  • Before waxing, exfoliate with a scrub made of two parts sugar and one part whole milk. Make sure your legs are completely dry and rub with baby powder.
  • Never use differing hair-removal methods in the same 72 hour time span.
  • Young women, when developing breasts, will get stretch marks. Mederma is great for reducing their appearance.
  • Mederma is also great for scars, such as from self-mutilation, acne, stitches and et cetera.
  • Use a silk pillowcase, and make sure you start off every week with a clean one.
  • Avoid tight clothing, as it can trap sweat and cause acne, ingrown hairs and yeast infections.
  • Apply a mixture of two parts strong chamomile team four parts lemon juice and one part olive oil to hair, comb through and stay in the sun for a few hours to lighten or highlight hair. Wash with a clarifying shampoo. (Don't do this more than once every six weeks, and you should wait four weeks between any two uses of clarifying shampoo, due to high acid contents.)
  • Always, always use a water-proof (not water-resistant), sweat-proof, oil free, light sunblock and reapply every two hours, or after you get out of water.
  • Soak rinsed, peeled cucumber slices in a water and vitamin E solution for ten minutes and apply to eyes for another ten.
  • Always use basecoat under nailpolish to prevent staining, and topcoat over it to prevent chipping These are not interchangeable.
  • Remove nail polish at least one a week using an acetome-free remover, and don't pick at chips.
  • If having your nails done at a salon, bring a bottle of your own nailpolish so you can do touch ups.
  • If you dye or heat-treat your hair, use a deep conditioner once a week. No more, no less.
  • Before bathing, scrub down in a shower first. What's the point in a bath if you're just stewing in your own filth?
  • Eat a lot of fruits and fat-free or low-fat dairy. You'll glow from the inside out.
  • If you're eating chocolate, go for a quality dark chocolate, as they're better for you. Also: Antioxidants, which means they're good for your skin.
  • Brush your teeth after every meal and floss once a day. Use low-flouride mouthwash if you must.
  • Do aerobic activities for 30-60 minutes 3-4 times a week.
  • Eat lean meats. If you indulge in burgers, be sure to grill ground chuck, turkey or venison, instead of pan-frying ground beef. The higher fat content of ground beef causes, among health problems, greasy hair, greasy skin and a larger waist line.
  • Condition only the ends of your hair with an oil-free, lightweight conditioner.
  • Never, ever, ever use aerosol hair products. Bad for the ozone and drying to your hair.
  • If you're of legal drinking age, a glass of red wine a day will supply you with a ton of antioxidants. Can't afford a good bottle? Grab a cheap one, I'm talking 4USD here, and chill it in the fridge for ten minutes to cut the badness.
  • Use a purple-y berry lipstick instead of a red if you're using colour on your eyes other than black.
  • Vitamin E gel is great for undereye bags and dark circles.
  • Use a tinted, oil-free moisturizer instead of foundation to avoid looking too made-up.
  • Be happy. Endorphins will make skin shine.
  • Smile. There is nothing sexier than an obviously blissful woman.

That's all I have for now.

I know this is a wimpy tip, but I've done a little modeling, and it's good to not overdue makeup, because when going in for modeling jobs, if you're overloaded with makeup, the photographers wont like you at all. Plus it clogs up your pores. Krisleigh, those are all great tips!! Very good skin advice.

Wow, nice Kriselgh!  I just have two questions.  1.  What does this do to help your eyes?  I have always wondered how cucumbers help. "Soak rinsed, peeled cucumber slices in a water and vitamin E solution for ten minutes and apply to eyes for another ten."
2. What is Mederma?
