Summary: On the eve of Sookie's (Melissa McCarthy) wedding, Rory's (Alexis Bledel) dad Christopher (David Sutcliffe) and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) spend a wonderful night together, but talk of resuming their relationship ends when Christopher gets a shocking message from his former girlfriend. Meanwhile, Rory is so happy to see that Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) has returned to Stars Hollow that she surprises them both by greeting him with a passionate kiss.

My favourite episode. After this I can't even name 2-5, it's too hard, but this show is above and beyond all others imo. The last five minutes of this episode is absolutely amazing. The use of music and the song 'I can't get started' justs fits everything so perfectly. I have literally watched this episode 20+ times and I never bore of it, but hey just my opinion Cheesy

Amen! The Chris/Lorelai in this was fantastic, the entire thing was crafted so well, I thought. I knew it was great when I loved things in it against my "shipperdoms." Example? I usually go for L/L, but here I loved L/C. I was then a more of a Dean person, but I loved the Rory/Jess kiss.

They really hit a high note, here.

Awwww, I love the first Rory/Jess kiss! I was so wonderful! What happened to the good ol' days?  Huh
And I loved Chris/Lorelai in this episode too! I think that if something would happen to L/L I would be a L/C fan!

I love the Rory/Jess kiss SO much in this episode.  It was so unexpected, yet what people (normal people) were waiting for.  I myself have watched that episode nearly a thousand times and can't get enough.  I am a very big fan of Rory and Jess.

Grin Out of the 6 seasons I think this is my favorite episode. I love when Rory and Jess kiss.  Kiss I felt so bad for Lorelai. She was counting on this! I also like when Lorelai says to Sookie "  Do you even like Jackson? " Priceless!  Cheesy Sorry if I go from one thing to another.

I want to defend Chrisopher here.  I think it was an error going back to Sherry, but one born out of good intentions (more on that later).  The only thing I think he actually did wrong, and not mistakenly was sleeping with Lorelai.  But, I have to blame Lorelai, too.  He hadn't broken up with Sherry when he slept with Lorelai.  At that time, they were on a break.  Why do I hear the Friends themesong?  He should have broken up with Sherry before being with Lorelai.  And, I mean he should have told Sherry that he wanted to end the relationship.  Him sleeping with Sherry?  Well, they were in a relationship.  It makes sense.  Again, if he had broken up with Sherry completely before he was with Lorelai, the issue of him having slept with Sherry wouldn't make a difference.

And, now, for him going back to Sherry.  I find mistakes more forgivable than deliberately trying to hurt someone.  Which he wasn't doing.  It came from an exaggeration of a good impulse.  He knew he was going to be a father again, and didn't want to make the same mistake he had made with Rory.  It was too late with Rory.  Oh, sure, he could and should have spent more time with her.  It wasn't too late for that, but the opportunity to be a full time presence in her formative years was gone.  It wasn't in Gigi's.  His problem was thinking that he had to be there all the time, live in the same house, and be married to a woman he didn't love for the sake of the child.  A bad idea, I know from my own parents.  He could have been a presence and done better than he had done with Rory, without having to go to that extreme.  Still, one thing that makes me not hate him is that he didn't get any joy out of leaving Lorelai.  Circumstances were difficult for both of them.  Like I said, I can understand inadvertantly hurting someone, as long as it isn't done with malice.  He hurt Lorelai and himself because he didn't think of a more reasonable way to fulfill his duties.

This is one of the first episode that I saw and I didn't know anything about Lorelai and Luke or Lorelai and Chris. Or Rory and Dean or Rory and Jess. But once I was cought up I didn't really like Chirs and Dean they both just seemed to good to be true and I like all of them although the Lorelai and Chis thing was magical I do like the fact that he left because I think he missed out on so much in Rory's life but I think he could be a great dad so he has his chance with Gigi. As for the Rory Jess think it seems like everything between them is a little weird this kiss was really weird but wonderful.

I like most GG shows, but there are always those few special ones, and this one is a doozy. I am in awe of how they managed to fit so much into just one show. The whole thing with Chris- at the time it seemed perfect, just what we've always wanted for ourselves, I suppose. True love(or is that being a bit too Princess Bride?). And when it ends tragically before it can even begin, well that in its own way is perfect. Heartbreaking, but perfect. And I was absolutely floored when at the end Rory abandons herself and kisses Jess. I mean... wow!

I love Jess, bad boy attitude. And everyone knows why Rory likes him, because he is like her father. I really don't like Christ popping up all the time especially because he is such scum! (end I hope everyone knows what I'm referring to.) Poor Rory just when things were getting good for her he goes and screws it up...again...althought the kiss with her and Jess. I really think 1. She can fix his bad boy attitude, 2. It will bring L/L together and 3. He more up to her intelligance level (sorry Dean I didn't mean it that way but it's true.)
