I think that part time job is a myth. They just cut the scene where someone stepped out of the shower and said the whole episode was a dream.
Haha. Funny. You might be right, since it's been swept under the rug otherwise.
I did not like how Logan had been kicked out of every school ever and thought it was so funny, and Christopher thought that that made him a standup guy for Rory.
Hmmm, poor Gigi has one heck of a dad.

WORD, missusmariano! I thought the same thing. That whole exchange btw Chris and Logan was like, "Yeah, we're bad, rich boys who have money to squander." Big deal. Grow up.
And seriously, the whole Rory getting the job at the Stanford Gazette has been completely neglected. I understand there's not room to fit in every plotline in every episode, but the first we heard about it was the last we heard about it. Do they think we're that forgetful? The writers may be, but the fans aren't!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. I mean didn't Rory BEG for that job in the first place? She practically stalked that guy in charge...

This was one of my favorite episodes this season. I loved, loved Lorelais skirt and like her entire outfit at the end when she had dinner with Luke and her parents. Like I officially fell in love with it!

The Beer-Hall Putsch: Paris accuses Rory of plotting to take over the newspaper editor-ship, and staging a "beer-hall putsch". [Rory: " I don't even know how to spell 'putsch']. This is an allusion to the Beer-Hall Putsch staged by Adolf Hitler years before he was elected chancellor of Germany
[the following is from Wikipedia]: The Beer Hall Putsch was a failed coup d'état which occurred in the evening of Thursday, November 8 to the early afternoon of Friday, November 9, 1923, when the nascent Nazi party's Führer Adolf Hitler, the popular World War I General Erich Ludendorff, and other leaders of the Kampfbund, unsuccessfully tried to gain power in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. (A putsch is the German equivalent of a coup d'état, or the revolt of a small number of people, e.g. a military coup.)
I learned that in world history last semester in school. I feel SMART!

I suppose that since Gg is not a full time gig for him, actor David Sutcliffe probably has his hair arranged that way for another role?
http://imdb.com/name/nm0005475/
No role should require that hair cut.

Also, does anyone else think that Rory might have taken on more than she can handle as far as the work stuff goes? I mean she has a part time job at that paper, she has a HUGE courseload (she's trying to make up for that missed semester) and now she signed on to be editor of the Yale Daily News?
She is SO going to be stressed out!

I think Rory will quit after it gets too pressured

I don't. While I think that Mitchum was pretty right about her (she doesn't have what it takes. she goes around with an attitude that everyone is supposed like her and success will just fall in her lap because it always has), I know that's not what we are supposed to believe. The writers want us to believe Rory has what it takes to be successful, so they will want to prove Mitchum wrong and wouldn't make her fail.
They will probably have her have a breakdown (like her first year at college) but still succeed.

I personally think that shell catch up for what she missed and then she will prove Mitchum that she CAN do it... but shell be stressed.

Words of wisdom there. Rory can't fail, and the audience is not supposed to believe any differently.

--->i dont think its about passing/failing, but more, that she can do anything she strives to.
She's a young girl and alot of the stuff she does (except maybe stealing the boat for a joyride)
is meant to be good and inspirational. I do hope she gets to be a journalist.
I LOVE the fact that she's back with LOGAN!!!
LOGAN is HOT!
LOGAN is COOL!
LOGAN is AWESOME!

DId anyone seem to agree that Luke discovering his lost daughter at such a time in his life was just a little coincidental? I know this is just something that Emily & Richard wanted to enter doubt into their daugher's relationship, but still it is a little strange. PLus when LUke when to April's mother and insisted to help with $ etc, she kep refusing until she finally gave in. I have to admit there is something that I just don't trust about her. Yes it was crazy EMily and Richard that made me think of this more, but I did have the initial thought.
Now about Rory's ability to suceed. Well I do agree with Michim to a bit, but I think she can handle this at the news. However it might mean a few breakdowns and plenty of trips to the physc. Does this mean that she might not have time for men in her life? THis might be very interesting. I think it'd be cool to see Rory and Logan share the responsiblity.

i guess no one noticed the weird timing of april's appearance because we all knew that it was "written in" to make luke/lorelai skid on their way to the wedding.
after this episode i must say, shame on me, because actually the writers succeded in making logan seem more likeable to me, though his appartment is overdone like julia roberts in pretty woman. which college student puts a freaking suit of armor in his room?. i still don't like that spoiled little brat, but i guess all the logan haters out there will have to get used to him, because we won't get rid of him anymore. did anyone notice how much effort the writers are putting into the task of making logan seem bearable? he saved the daily news with his name and some articles he apparently wrote just for the fun of it, maybe when he was tired of partying, now he "saves" rory and gets along really well with christopher and i am sure there is more to come.
but i loved christopher. i never disliked him, but in this episode i found him great. he struggles to be a father to rory even being somehow a child himself... dunno, i really look forward to see more of him.
anyway, after this episode i know what asp is up to: rory and logan marry. luke and lorelai break up, he gets together with anna and april, she will be living with christopher and marry him eventually.
asp will just wreak total havoc before moving on
nah, just kidding i don't think she could be so cruel... or can she?
