Does anyone know where to buy the beanie Lorelai wore to go on the hike on the show? My wife would like to have one. Thanks, Mark Graham

I hated this "episode"

It seemed so slow paced, then it felt like I was watching a musical for 30 minutes..and then the last 20 minutes were finally fast paced and packed with stories.

I ended up watching it again and loved it.
The musical was quite hilarious although I still think it was just too long. I have been waiting for this revival since 2007 so please have a storyline, give us more story!! These were my thoughts anyway.

The entire Paul thing should have never happened, it doesn´t fit Rorys´character and it wasn't funny at all.
Rory sleeping with Logan, even though he is engaged, was enough.

In generel I miss the fast paced episodes in this revival, everything seems much slower in a way. I think the Paladins are great for the 45 minute format and if Gilmore Girls should return (I still hope so, there is nothing great on TV anymore) it would be best to return as a spin off about Rory´s life.
We get the Gilmore Girls vibe but don't have to expect the exact same thing, thus don't have to be disappointed.
Amy also really likes to be creative and this would give her the chance to create something rather new.

I literally hated EVERY SINGLE SECOND of the musical.  It felt like a really, super, extremely, ridiculously long winded way to tie in the song that ultimately hits Lorelai so hard.  Like, she could have just been driving home and heard it.  My absolute least favorite moment of the entire revival.
And I LOVE musicals!  My all time favorite movie is The Sound of Music!  But man, that was just...atrocious.  I'm running out of adjectives here people.

Hey Heidi,
I'm new here this is my first post, although I have no idea how since I've been a GG fan since it first started.  The only DVDs I actually own are all 7 seasons, lol.  Anyway, I would love it if you'd do a Things You Love, Things You Hate, Things You Didn't See Coming for each of the new episodes like you did for 1.01, that was great!

I'll do one too as soon as I rewatch them, I've only seen them once at this point and I was too busy just swimming in the land of Gilmore to have an intelligent conversation about it.  I mostly just want to squeal that it exists at all right now.  LOL.

I feel that the Fall episode was very jam packed full of events and that there was a million things happening at the same time. I just can't get my head around the bomb shell that Rory gives to her Mom about the fact that she is pregnant and they then cut the episode there! I hope to god there is another season to follow on from this...  Smiley

I thought it was interesting that the part of Emily that enjoyed power and propriety "died with Richard." It sort of explains why, after everything they'd been through, all it took was one drunken rant to put her and Lorelai back at square one. Emily majored in History at Brown, and is clearly still passionate about historical accuracy as she retires to curate the whaling museum. Could it be that all her social posturing and political ambition was part and parcel with her devotion to her husband? Her relationship with Richard's mother suggested that she struggled to fit in with the Gilmores, and she occasionally showed flashes of temper and humor that seemed completely at odds with the Victorian propriety she aspired to as a Gilmore.
Maybe, just maybe, the severe social standards that she maintained (that made Lorelai's rebellion and defection so hard to cope with) was more for Richard than it was for her. Maybe she would gladly have thrown it all away to embrace her daughter if it hadn't meant betraying Richard's values as well. Then he dies. She wakes up not giving a damn about the things that drove a wedge between her and Lorelai in the first place, and, in her secret heart, blames Richard for the distance between them.
Then, right in the middle of this profound anger and doubt, when she needed some confirmation that she hadn't wasted her life and destroyed her family for the sake of "the Gilmore Way," Lorelai relates an anecdote that makes it sound like he didn't really love her. It should have been funny, but there was too much pressure on the moment that Lorelai couldn't have possibly known about. And Lorelai can't apologize because she doesn't understand what she is apologizing for.
So they thrash about in their separate grief until Emily finds a life to live for herself and Lorelai tells her that in spite of her resentments, she always felt her father's love for her. And so they both come to terms with the fact that, while knowing Richard Gilmore wasn't always easy for either one of them, neither could imagine a life without him.

I dunno, if that's the attention span Rory has for her bfs, it would explain a lot! I kind of liked Paul, he reminded me of what's his name, Alex. And he seemed to have a lot of characteristics that her previous boyfriends lacked. I mean, clearly he's not the jealous type like Dean. And he's extremely considerate of her family and friends the way Jess wasn't. Plus long distance seems to be just fine with him. Vote for Paul, he's got enough long-term memory for the both of them!
