1  Gilmore Girls / Show and Cast Member News / Re: ABC's Samantha Who: Meet the Cast (Melissa McCarthy) on: October 16, 2007, 05:10:46 pm
I watched this show last night and thought it was okay--not on par with GG, but humorous and full of potential.  I was sad Melissa McCarthy's part was not larger  Angry, but she did a great job.  I will watch again just to see if they give her more screen time.  RI

I think two hours would be enough to tie things up.  Most likely the movie would not pick things up exactly where the series ended--some time will have passed, so an assumption could be made of progress in the lives of the characters.  Maybe it would pick up at the point of the presidential election completed and Rory completing her stint on the campaign trail with O'Bama--she would then be more mature and ready to start a new phase of her life (renewed relationship time with Logan maybe??).  This would also have allowed enough time to go by for Luke and Lorelai to get their relationship on solid ground again -- and get them to the point where they could get married and start a family.
3  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.22 - Bon Voyage on: May 15, 2007, 10:29:31 pm
Although overall I thought this was a good episode with many of my favorite GG traits, I do not feel the CW truly has lived up to its promise of giving the show the send off "it deserves."  Other than promos announcing it as the series finale and that 5 second "thank you" blurb at the end, what has the CW done?  I find it annoying that so many loyal viewers are just being railroaded into giving up the show.  I can understand that LG and AB are worn out and feel creatively drained, but isn't that why they take several months off in the spring/summer?  They could have even taken a few extra months if they had agreed to a shorter season next year.  It is just hard to see something so well done end in what feels somewhat an incomplete fashion.  I hoped they would have had greater pride in their work than to just drop the ball in the end like this.

Goodbye Gilmore Girls.  You will be greatly missed!

Everyone not to spoil the fun you are all having but .....
Just because someone said that rory said no does not mean that it is true. It could be that at graduation she says that she is still not sure and she needs more time to think about it. after all she is the queen of the pro con list. untill i see her doing that and saying no on tv then i dont believe what they say. After all they made the talk between lor and logan sound really bad but it turned out to be nothing like they way they made it seam. after all they can not give away any really big news.... I would bet that she really does not say no..... but that is just fans opinion........ plus MA is full of you know what. he gets paid to mess with our heads... and he loves doing it.

I tend to agree with this--if there is to be a season 8, they will need to have a cliffhanger with which to end season 7 and draw viewers back in the fall.  If this was to be the series finale it would be much more likely that the R/L storyline would come to a neater or happier end.
5  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.19 - It's Just Like Riding a Bike on: April 25, 2007, 03:18:29 pm
I thought this episode was excellent--I particularly loved the juxtaposition of Paris' reactions when she first learned she was accepted to a graduate school as compared to her reaction after learning she had been accepted to a number of school.  She went from ecstasy to agony within minutes! Too funny to watch.  I also loved the last scene with Luke explaining how he had gone onto Craig's List and found another jeep that she could swap the engine out of--that is TOTAL proof he still loves and cares for her.

In the opening scene when Babette and Miss Patty saw Lorelai come into the diner I wish they could have included them more in the scene, but Kirk's diatribe about the stool was top notch.

All in all, one of the season's best episodes, if not the best.

I loved the symbolism, as well, in the Hay Bale Maze episode--and I like the continuation of using symbolism in the title of tomorrow's episode.  Loralai and Luke should be able to get right back into their relationship because it is not something they will ever forget--kind of like riding a bike.  Hopefully there will be more use of symbolism in the episode.  It makes the writing seem so much more meaningful.
