3.16 The Big One - Paris vs. Brad in the hallway.

this has become one of my favourite episodes, mostly because it's almost entirely Liza Weil's episode. She was immense, from her villain side to the vulnerable side. the scenes with her & Adam Wiley are spot on and very funny, especially her pisstake of his character in "into the woods". But ye, the key scene is when she is torn apart by her rejection into Harvard. Very strong writing, even when the mood turns into awkwardness

doyle: "what is this"

everytime i see thread about the worst qualities of this show from the hardcore fans. two things are always brought up, one being chris & lorelei's wedding (this is not about that) aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand season 6.

i love season 6, it was one of the most interesting written season of them all, when i saw season6 the first time, I sortof liked it but when i rewatched it alot, it became one of my favourite seasons. I know the reasons for the hatred of the season being plots of the latter part, which is mostly by the JJ's beef, i am not a big, nor have never been a big luke & lorelei fan (as in relationship, they are better off as friends, even though i know as a guy, men and women can never be just friends), but still up to "we've got magic to do" and around that phase, i was perfectly ok with it. rory's phases is the main reason why i love this season. she needed that setback to be able to grow.

7  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.22 - Bon Voyage on: May 23, 2007, 01:20:47 am
one of the fundamental plotlines of season 8 (if it would have been done) would have been rory & logan back together in an uberromantic sequence with rory singing "i will always love you" in the democratic party convention after-party with a toasted bill & hillary and barack and bucketloads of kennedy's in the audience all cheering for rory as she is making her very very romantic serenade while all the lifeguards of bill&hillary carries rory to her beloved logan and they all stand there like there wasn't anything more important to do in the world. and then, they crown them the champions of the world and rory & logan marries and have the most beautiful kids in the world and then their kids will reign the world and then bunnies & unicorns will jump around on fields.....

edit... was that a bit to much sarcasm?

i never noticed any shane-bashing but then again i never really stepped into the headliners or literati threads. and yes, it would be weird to bash shane was too little of a character for what it was worth. i liked shane, she was totally oblivious of the game rory & jess was playing but her lines in "ones got dye & ones got class" was great.

i found the lorelei singing sequence just awkward and i never felt not even a single piece of romantic vibe channeled between the two parties in question. also just before the predictable kiss-sequence in bon voyage, i actually uttered the words, just the get it over with, since i was more interesting in the scene after it.
10  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.22 - Bon Voyage on: May 21, 2007, 04:28:02 am
from what i read and seen. especially a couple of lauren graham interviews, the ellen one & the ausiello one, i'm guessing the only ones who didn't think it was the series finale was hopeful disillusionals. I think Graham mentioned in the ausiello one that she had some scenes altered so if it turned out to be a series finale then show wouldn't be left in a bunch of loose ends (err... well, less than what was left with now). also, i think my "mourning" (not that i especially had one) period ends today. with deleting all of the season 7 episodes i have stockpiled on my computer. last season 7 episode to be watched?, my favourite one of season: the great stink.
11  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.22 - Bon Voyage on: May 16, 2007, 06:58:11 am
Yeah, good episode. Not a great episode but good episode. As a season ender it was fairly good, but not as a show ender, however, i loved the last scene. My initial instict after last weeks episode with logan & rory breaking up lead me to think that Logan would show up and actually in the end of the episode. and while i like the rory/logan relationship alot i thought it was nice that didn't happen since then the show's end would be offshifted to that instead of what it became, i know inevitably that he would stick Luke & Lorelei together finally, it was so predictable but nicely done, my initial prediction after the chris&lor breakup was that they was going to get together by episode17 but when that didn't happen it was blatantly obvious that it would happen in ep22. The Richard & Emily / Lorelei scenes was amongst the best ones in the episode aswell, and yes taylor's speech was fecking creepy.

and also, dani257. it's Lane van Gerbig. they've said it two times before in this season.

All & All, this was a fun 6 years. Will always love this show, will still watch the dvd's. I still remember the first time i saw it when it first appeared her on Channel5 in sweden, in the fall of 2001. i didn't get the show's plot initially and i didn't get to see the first 4 episodes until they reran them but from like episode 8, i was hooked and initially it was due to the beautiful girl that is Alexis Bledel but the show was immense aswell. But ye, this shouldn't be considered a funeral, it should be a celebration.
12  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.21 - Unto the Breach on: May 10, 2007, 03:03:53 am
the rory/logan plotlines this season has been the most interesting in this season but also in many ways they have been nothing but lame, innocent and dumbfound. i think everytime they sparked up something interesting they ended up downplaying it so much in the end it became like just a feather again
13  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.21 - Unto the Breach on: May 09, 2007, 05:06:10 am
well, hmm, i never read spoilers but if i have my predictablity from the writers channeled in right i know what is going happen with the fate of luke & lorelei and rory & logan. i think however they did a terrible job at it if they were going for doing the ubersetback episode to have the ending be the uberhappy episode.
i said in the thread of "lorelei, lorelei" that rory & logan is way to young to get married and it's damn true. however should it have led to this? not really
i will still not give a rats arsed about the fate of luke and lorelei, so ye. kirk in the box, damn funny idea, but the idea fell flat.
Liza Weil looked beautiful with her hair like that in the graduation sequence. what else, best line of episode "After everything TJ's put you through?".
I thought the scenes with Christopher would get into the higher state of awkwardness, glad that it didn't. What else,,,, oh yeh, the intro with the mnemonic device thing was pissfunny
14  Gilmore Girls / Show and Cast Member News / Re: No Season 8 on: May 03, 2007, 02:25:09 pm
i'm gutted. this is a bonifde pisstake. i will still love the show and still hope for a 11th hour change, but evenutally, all good things must come to an end really
