1  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.22 - Bon Voyage on: May 15, 2007, 06:41:01 PM
I will miss this show. I enjoy watching the reruns but it was so wonderful to see what was going to happen next in crazy Stars Hollow and with our Gilmore Girls. I started really getting into the show after my own mother pass away quickly. I was extremely depressed and believe it or not watching this show was the only thing that made me feel better. It's like everyone else said. ASP's writing was so good and Stars Hollow was where I escaped to and almost wished I lived. Thank you for that GGs. I will have to start with watching season one every Tuesday as some sort of replacement. It's sometimes the smallest strangest unexpected things that help you through tough times. I can see that this show has done that for a lot of us that post here. Good to know I'm not the only one.
2  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.21 - Unto the Breach on: May 11, 2007, 07:45:59 AM
TOUCY TOPIC HERE...

I am curious, who found their soulmate /a soulmate-ish person and is currently with that person
Who is stil looking
Who messed something up (that would be me)

I don't believe in just one soulmate....but the first person I was ever "with" and I had a very strong soul mate type connection. I couldn't figure out if it was just because he was my first love or my "soulmate" but I had a friend that I worked with who read aura's and I asked her if he and I were going to get married. Her responce was that sometimes people do no marry their soulmates and that she had not married hers.  Now I'm married to someone who I have a different type connection with but a more realistic and less puppy love-ish....I do consider him my soul mate but on a different level. That's why I don't believe there's just ONE soul mate for everyone.

I agree with those who stated that Rory and Logan are not too young. I mean they've both graduated from college it's not like they are 16 and 17!

Also, I never "just knew" that I was going to marry my husband. No body in this world is perfect, hence there's something wrong with them that might annoy/bother you and you'd think twice about marrying them. Therefore you don't "just know" when it's right.

I'm so sad that GG is over! This show has helped me to take my mind off some really really tough times in my life. I will really miss this show.
4  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.20 - Lorelai? Lorelai? on: May 01, 2007, 06:49:36 PM
Ok someone explain what the title meant. Lorelai? Lorelai?

That was what Logan said to Lor when she didn't respond to his upcoming proposal to Rory

Is anyone thinking that Lor is going on this boat trip w/ luke??

I also thought that...it seems they might be setting it up that way now that Luke's taken all of Lor's suggestions and now April isn't going.

I know...the episodes keep getting better and better...they have to have at least an 8th season or I'll be so sad.
I love how Zach's very first thought was to bring his whole family on the tour. Even though there was no way that could work it was still really sweet. I also loved Friday night dinner!! It was great to see Emily and Richard.
7  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.20 - Lorelai? Lorelai? on: May 01, 2007, 06:33:26 PM
That was a great epi! It was mixed signals to me that Zach said he found Luke's old hat. So it wasn't even that Luke thought twice that it was Lor's hat that she gave him that he was wearing but it was just a hat to wear b/c he needed one. So Lor looked too much into what she thought was his "grand gesture". What does that mean? He won't "always love her" too?

What's going on with Logan's voice anyway? It's all deep and raspy. I loved that Lor didn't know what to say.

(I posted this in the episode discussion as well but it applies here too)

Maybe Rory is confused about what she wants. It's not like her Mother was a great example to her of how to choose a man and stick with it. Even though Lor tried to keep the men away from Rory, she's seen Max, her Dad and Luke not to mention other insignificant men come and go from her house. Maybe she feels insecure with the thought of actually settling down with someone because she hasn't seen her mother make it work and they are a lot alike. Also, Doyle did mention the key fact that he's older than Paris and I believe he's older than Logan right? at least he seems more mature then the Logan that I've seen over all. Even though Logan has shown improvements he still recently went off to Vegas which was a set back to his old ways. I love L/R together but they are too young to settle down. Logan needs to grow some more. Isn't Rory his first true love? At least Rory's had more experience then him in that area. I would like to see Rory with other guys. Logan was her fun immature exciting relationship...later she'll find the true stable love either with Logan again or another man hopefully in SEASON 8!

I mean if Paris and Doyle can seem to stick it out while dealing with after college issues, why not Rory and Logan?

Perhaps because Rory and Logan and Paris and Doyle are all completely different individuals, with different thoughts, feelings, needs and lives?

In my view, Rory has always had her journalistic dream, right back from day one of the series.  That she had absolutely no hesitation whatsoever when choosing the NYT fellowship over Logan/SF was very telling to me.  Her career dream is still very much alive, at least at that point in the show.  Why is it so wrong for Rory to choose her career, at this time in her life when she is still young, and just about to embark on her career? Yes, it is possible to have it all - if you are willing to work at it.  But, timing is also very important and if Rory feels that this is the time for her to focus on her career first, that should be her right and shouldn't send so many people into a tizzy. As I said, Rory has always been very focused on her career and this shouldn't come as such a surprise.  In the end, it is her life (fictional, as it is) and her choice. From a storyline pov, it seems very true to who Rory has always been.

I see what you're saying, but I edited your comments from above:

"In my view, Paris has always had her medical doctor dream, right back from day one of her introduction.  That she had absolutely no hesitation whatsoever when choosing a Master's over Doyle was very telling to me."

 Grin

I really like Logan and Rory but I also really believe that she is toooooooooooo young to get married. I think she knows, like her mother did with Max, that he's a great guy but she's too young and more interested in fulfulling her career aspirations. I would love an 8th season so they can get back together eventually "a la" Luke and Lor but I think she's way to young and needs to go out and have some fun and pursue her career goals first.

I'd actually love a 9th and 10th season myself!

I just read a spoiler that Rory will be going to Iowa to write for an online newspaper. That would anger me if true because it makes NO SENSE! Iowa! Are you kidding me? Don't get me wrong, I'm from the midwest but that's exactly why I know that no one who just graduated from YALE would even consider moving there. Plus why would she need to move there if it's an online paper? She could write from anywhere.

Here another senario on the Rory Logan Spoiler:

The Rory and Logan breakup could be because Logan pressures her or even just feels bad because she didn't give an immediate yes so they have a heart felt talk and he says that if she can't say yes right now then she's not ready and what are they doing with their relationship then...so they mutually decide to break up. Rory will agree with the break up because she doesn't want to be pressured by Logan and because she just had a talk with her idol CA at graduation and CA told her life will be busy and hectic and you won't have time as a reporter to cultivate a family/relationship anyway and her career is important to her.
