Episode Discussion / Season 1 / Re: 1.08 - Love & War & Snow

We don't get snow where I live so its nice to see it on the show.
That sucks that you don't get snow where you live. I always did find it interesting and wonderful how people react to their first snowfall/winter. I get to experience that up in Canada in a major city where immigrants flock to and it happens quite often. As for my own thoughts about snow, I love fresh-fallen snow and I love looking at it when it's untouched on the ground, but I kind of hate it after a snowfall. When the snow is just left on the ground, it gets dirty and wet and I don't like that. I think I must have seen this episode 5 times. That's 2-4 more times than I have seen any other episode.

Gilmore Girls / Appreciation Threads / Re: Alexis Bledel/Rory Appreciation: Is it just me, or does she look taller?

Bump.
I know most if not all dislike Rory nowadays, but she is after all one of the two main characters of the show. It has kind of turned into an unappreciation thread anyway, so it doesn't really matter. Besides, the first part of the topic title says "Alexis Bledel."
Anyway, I just thought it was funny how one of the most important main character's discussion thread was on the last page of the Cast and Characters forum =P

I want to post in this thread, but I'm not really on topic with the most recent posts Oh well, you can just ignore my post I wanted to watch Spirited Away, anyone know where I can get a copy of it? There are some great animations with the greatest storylines, although they are probably rarely heard of. Yes, well, lots of movies are based in books, so... It's not that a good idea, it's just that I know so many smart people that are too lazy to read and think reading is for nerd kids or something like that.
That reminds me of me... except I don't think reading is for nerds, although everyone else does. I do often watch the movies based on books but never read them. I've seen all the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings movies, but never read(or finished) any of the books. I tried reading The Hobbit, which is the prequel to the LotR stories, but I got bored after reading the beginning, same with the first Harry Potter book.

Welcome to the newcomers. Every once in a while, I will go to friends houses and have a GG party.
GG PARTY? Sounds like fun, I wish I could attend a GG party. No masculine guys? You know, I think you're right. But I don't know what else you'd consider Taylor. I don't know - he just looks like he could bench his own body weight. Actually, now that I think of it, he's the only one with facial hair isn't he? He doesn't look very fit. =P Plus, he has a whiny personality or however you would like to call it.

Very good job with the witty cards. It must have taken a while to think up of all those lines. [...]weird, kind of chalky-tasting candy hearts with stuff written on them. But for me personally, Valentine's Day will forever be most closely tied to memories of elementary school, when every 14th of February meant all the kids in class sharing valentine cards with one another—a day for everyone to feel included, in the giving and receiving of those sweet, flimsy, cheesy little notes.
Hmm.. I wonder if people actually eat those candy hearts, they do taste chalky. I think around here chocolate and cinnamon hearts is more common. I too think it was an amazing day back in elementary school, and we need more days like that in our lives. Again, great job on the cards.

I'm quite suprised at myself for not ever posting on this thread before. I know I've read through some of it at least 3 times, but I never actually replied. Weird I guess.
As for the content of my post, there are so many things I wanted to reply to as I re-read through the thread, but I feel that it would be too long and I don't usually like to bring up old topics.
So I guess I'll just talk about my experience as a "Gilmore Guy" and how I came about to watch the show.
As for my experience as a male who watches the show, I guess I gain laughter and knowledge when I watch the show. Laughter I don't need to explain, as for the knowledge, I once posted on the older male thread from the past forum that I like to watch the show to gain understanding the female mind. I also get to observe how life could be for some people (even though the story is fiction, aside from GG being realistic, as long as any story isn't too far-fetched it could be a reality IMO), as I constantly try to learn about people and life.
Aside from watching the show, I've only discussed/read about the show on this site. No one really knows I watch the show except for my family and my friend who I told recently for some apparent reason. My brothers don't really care what I watch, and my mother teases me(yes my mother =P) for watching the "Women's Channel"(to my knowledge, it shows only on the W Network in Canada).
When I first saw the show, it was actually on another channel. It was late during one of those many nights in which I was procrastinating school work and I decided to flip through channels on the TV. I found it quite interesting and decided to watch the rest of the episode. The truth is, I didn't really like this episode, but instead I decided to watch it again the next day and found liking to those. So why did I end up watching the show if I didn't really like the first episode I saw? Well, I usually find that I can watch any kind of series and find some liking to it. I must say, instead of my usual wasting of time when procrastinating, finding the show was definitely not. Luckily for me the timing was pretty good and the channel was currently showing the first half of the first season.
I can't really focus on one thing for too long so I think I'll end my post here. =P

(I hope they show the episodes in order from here on! ) I'm pretty sure the channel has been showing them in order, no? The episode guide is really helpful, but only if you read the summaries, because they don't show the titles on TV. Which makes it hard to find out which episodes you've missed.
Anyway, you can look at their schedule with the Episode names on the website. Here is a direct link to the page you probably want: http://www.wnetwork.com/tv_shows/shows/gilmore_girls/index.asp?tz=3&DirectID=1&date=02/08/2006&displayMode=descHope that helps. Hmm, I noticed they got rid of the showing of an episode at 5pm on Fridays. The change slows down the series by 1 episode a week, but it's a good change for me since I'm rarely home around that time. Time to watch the whole series again! =)

Happy 5th birthday to the ORG!
From what I understand, this site was ran by a few people(if not just Heidi), and a great job has been done. Congratulations and thanks for all the hard work done to make this site what it is.
I also feel "new," and also think that cake is awesome. Imagine if that was real and you had it sitting beside you, wow.
