Gilmore Girls / Relationship Threads / Re: Rory's Boyfriends Discussion Thread

Here I go: LOGAN IS A TOTAL SPOILED RICH BOY WITH A PERSONALITY LIKE POISIONED HONEY AND ONLY ONE THING ON HIS MIND, Dean is a cheater and just kind of boring, and Jess is attractive, interesting, intimidatiing, deep, and downright perfect for Rory. Plus, he has always loved her unconditionally and never strayed. Which one? HMMMM... it rhymes with Tess!
I'd have to disagree. I thought Jess was unbelieavly rude to her at times. He was inconsiderate to Lorelai, got upset at Rory when she didn't want to have sex, simply left her without notice around the time of her graduation, got her in a car accident. So for the never strayed part, I would definitely disagree. Plus, Rory herself even said it, when he asked that night when he randomly came to her dorm room window "Only say no if you really don't want to be with me" (I think thats what it was!) "No"

For all you who like Chris, I'm on your boat. He was very admirable in this episode. The cutest part was seeing him with the sidekick and Rory.. He really DOES love her and care about her. I felt so bad for him when he left after Luke called. It had to be a weird moment for him.
Rory and Logan: Theres going to be some quick maturing going on in that relationship. Experiences like that do make you a bit more mature.

Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: Decline of Gilmore Girls? Discussion

I wouldn't say its a decline. I think as the Gilmore Girls grow up, their story lines are going to become a bit more adult as well. I think Rory is acting very hypocritical with Logan right now, and I am REALLY missing the devoted girlfriend she used to be, regardless of her relationship.
Once again, I'm covering my head as I write this, but the Luke/Lorelai romance really doesn't seem to work for me. It was just plain awkward at the begining of the season watching them really get their lips going when they kissed. I liked it when they were friends.
At the begining of the series, I often used to get a bit annoyed because those big events that you waited for, or the twists in the plot that spiced up the season were so far apart. Its a bit opposite this season. But I wouldn't say this season was horrible.

Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: How do you think the show should end?

I like the low key endings.. I've realized those make a bigger impact than the trumped up grand finales. I'm going to get stoned and beaten for this, but I want the show to end with Lorelai single. I don't think Lorelai need's any guy to make her who she is. She's an amazing, independent woman, and I want her to stay that way.. I liked the friendship LL had, but its just not translating into romance for me. Seeing Lorelai single at the end, I think would be the ultimate exclamation point: this girl can do *anything* on her own.
Rory? I'd love to see her with Logan, travelling the world as a journalist. But the very last scene HAS to be with the two Lorelai's... they have a beautiful relationship on which the show is built around
And finally, I want the elder Gilmore girls, Emily and Lorelai, to reach some reconciliation or understanding. All these years they wanted the best for Lorelai and Rory, and for each, it came out in a different way. I think a reconciliation between Emily and Lorelai would provide some real closure.

My only complaint would be that Young Christopher does not look like the present Christopher. I love this episode, and the flashbacks, especially seeing Emily at the end, and Chris and Lor hiding in the stairs as their parents talk, really really get some tears out of you. Watching them switch from Chris and Lor looking at Gigi and them looking at Rory was a really moving scene. ASP at her best!

I would disagree. Logan hasn't tried to flaunt or talk up his wealth to Rory. Personally, I find him to be one of the most respectful (even appealing to Lorelai to help him get Rory back). He genuinely loves Rory. On Jess.. well, he ran away and never told her, and was a jerk to Lorelai and the town. He was constantly complaining, feeling as if the world owed him something, and even got upset for Rory not wanting to have sex with him. We have seen him "changed" in the last episode... but I still think that what he did in the past was way too much to constitute a life partner.

I would diagree.. Logan knew it was not like her and didn't even believe that she would make it for a while with out school.. Logan didn't try to but in to decisions that were HER own. Logan was not the reason or catalyst for Rory dropping out of Yale. I sincerely believe he is sorry for what he did and did NOT think he was cheating. Thats the only beef I can find with this kid. He's been down to earth, polite and loving with Rory, nothing less. I was glad that Rory was able to see past some stupidity and realize how much HE loves her.

I dont get how everyone says Logan is mean and a jerk to Rory. I think he was truly genuinely sorry for his indiscretions. And I thought HE was the one being treated like sh!t in this episode! I'm glad Rory was able to stand up and pull away instead of sinking to a lower level. I think it definitely showed some maturity and devotion there. I was definitely a bit mad that Jess tried to kiss her off the bat like that. I was, however, touched, by Luke really "bonding" with his daughter.. he seems to be a good dad, so far

Ditto all the above.
Logan treats Rory properly. He doesn't bum out on her. He doesn't lie to her. He doesn't get mad when she doesn't want sex. He genuiunely loves her; he even admits it and talks about how much he has changed simply for her sake. There is definite chemistry between them. Logan supports what Rory does instead of constantly acting as if the world revolves around him or the world owes him something (like a certain other boyfriend). You may cite the bridesmaids against me, but he genuinely did not believe he was cheating. He was lonely and needed to let off some steam. Its his first relationship, he is still learning. He came back for her, even after. He put all his efforts in to winning her back.
You can say that Logan has changed Rory. From what I've seen, Rory has always been comfortable around Logan. Logan was the one who tried to dissuade her from taking the internship. Logan never made or encouraged her to drop out of school; she did these things on her own voiltion. Logan did not tell her to steal the boat.
Its undeniable how they mesh. He's just a crazy free spirit and got Rory to come out of her shell; she's a quiet type who flies with his spirit and grounds him at the same time.

I thought it was a pretty good episode; I loved seeing the two Lorelais together, and I think it was good to show the tension between Rory and Logan. Personally, I feel bad for Logan, but knowing Rory, it seemed predictable she'd act that way. She is quite tactful with her disappointment and anger. She uses it in good ways.

1. Wedding Bell Blues 2. A Vinyard Valentine
I just love those two. There are so many more.. its mostly just incidences (Kirk running around naked, Colin Fin and Logan pulling their fight stunt, Emily telling off Shira Huntzburger) But those are episodes I like on a whole.
