Well my husband and I were talking about what we would do if we went back to school.  At one point I had considered going back to school to teach, but I have decided that I don't want to do that anymore.  Then he said, "I could see you going to law school."  I was like, wow, wow!  I have always thought law school could be very interesting, but not in the sense of practicing law.  I would like to go into educational law or gov't law writing or being a lobbyist.  The more and more I thought about it, the more it makes sense. I have mentioned the idea to a few friends and they are like, yes you can, go for it. The idea is still in it's infancy, a lot of research to do.  And the first hurdle will be a lot of studying for the LSAT.

Janich don't be so hard on yourself you were doing your best and he is okay.  I know that those moments can be scary, like when you lose sight of your child at a busy public park and your head goes to the worst possible scenario.

All right, I've got news.  I'm actually considering going to law school.  First hurdle is the LSAT and it's intimidating, but I'm just starting the research about what it takes to study for the test.

5  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: What other TV shows do GG fans watch? on: July 26, 2015, 01:28:03 pm
My escape this week has been Psych ... I have needed the humor and it has been a great place to rest and relax.

I have turned into such a tv nerd. I don't even know why I still have friends - when do i get time to see them? just kidding. But seriously, i'll tell you something embarrassing - I even have a word document with all the shows i watch, telling me which episode i am on and when my shows will come back on air.

Nothing wrong with that, you are just being organized.  I know there are apps for that, unless of course you are admitting that you have created your own spread sheet for keeping track of all of your shows. Is it like a good reads for tv?  I notice that I either watch shows or I read. It's hard to do both.

So out of the many shows I watch, let me just name my favourites

Mc Leods Daughters - watched it at the same time as Gilmore girls, to get my Aussie cowgirl fix

ah yes, I was trying to remember the name of this one.  I sure enjoyed watching it and I think I watched all of it. The strong women were great and I've always found life on a ranch fascinating.  The constant hard work amazes me, but I doubt it would ever be my way of life. I'm the city girl who enjoys brief vacations in the country

Started watching suits last week - already on season 3
I have watched much of that but the recent season or so just started to bore me, when the entire season was on the same internal fight .... it just lost me. Constant anger, just not relaxing to watch anymore.

oh and to mention GG related stuff:
I watched Prenthood and Bunheads. Of course it was hard not to see Lauren Graham as Lorelai. Bunheads didn't impress me too much, but i quite enjoyed Parenthood, even if I think Lauren's character didn't have enough depth as some of the other cast.
It took me a long time to warm up to Parenthood.  I wasn't a first season fan, but I really really got into the plot line with Max.  I could really relate to his mom dealing with Max and ALSO her political background

Bunheads was all right, I wish it would have had more time ... but it was what it was.  I was not a fan of the man actress, I felt like she was trying to be Lauren.
6  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: Fans over 30 on: July 26, 2015, 01:19:11 pm
I finally belong in this thread haha. I turned 31 in April, just saying that outloud makes me feel super old even though technically I know I'm not. I am glad I am not the only one over 30 on this site that helps me feel better. So how is everyone?

I have a rough week, where being an adult can really suck sometime.  Yet through it all, I stayed true to my beliefs no matter how hard I was pressured to change them.
7  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: Gilmore Fan Videos on youtube on: July 26, 2015, 01:12:05 pm
Hey!   Smiley
For those who like watching Gilmore fan videos on youtube, please check out mine, I uploaded it a while ago but haven't gotten any comments. Let me know what you think, I'd love feedback. Search youtube Emily & Rory - Lost Identity under the channel Passion Pictures or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcG_Kqp01hg
It's an AU (alternate universe) video where Rory finds out she is Emily's daughter which sparks an emotional chain of reactions between the Gilmore women.
I always thought Rory's personality was much more like Emily than Lorelai, which was the premise behind it.

Wow, nice work!

....That is so dark, you broke the Gilmores, haha! You gave me the feels, good job Smiley

What a lot of time that must have taken you!

Ditto!  That gave me the chills, it was dark ... but wow, nice work. I think you must be EPG(Evil Promo Guy);s long lost sister.  You could have a career in promo videos to mess everyone up about the next episode. WELL DONE!

And welcome!:)

Wow, that was QUITE the party.  And because I was sober, I can sure tell you what else you did than just keeping the food ready B.

WE LOVE YOU Mariana!!!!
9  Episode Discussion / Season 5 / Re: 5.07 - You Jump, I Jump, Jack on: July 11, 2015, 10:33:34 am
I have to admit this is one of my favorite episodes.

And guess what I found, that sure reminds me of this episode. Plus a new word involved too, I'm sure Lorelai would be all over this and possibly now updating The DragonFly be part of the new 'glamping' trend.  Here is how they define it ... "Let’s go Glamping!

Treebones is a premier Glamping resort. Glamping is defined as a luxury form of camping, blending natural experience of outdoor camping with more glamorous amenities."

http://www.treebonesresort.com

I can just see Kirk lining up to work here, I bet they'd sell Hay There too ...  Yet, I also could see Liz selling her jewelry there.  This sure sounds like a mix between luxoury and hippy, so I bet all of Stars Hollow would be diggin' it.

Maybe it'll happen like you said B, and you'll be all "i'm psychic!" But people will point and call you names, and you'll deny your power, until one day a tall dark gentleman comes by. One whom seem to understand you. And then...
There he goes, Mr. Author to be again.   Nod

Chick Lit is basically the new name for romance novel without the whole Mills & Boon element. I'm not inclined to read books with some shirtless Fabio on the front but the "Devil Wears Prada", "Bergdorf Blondes" style is all for me!
Have you tried Janet Evanovich?  I've read her heist series, but I hear the One for the Money one is great.

However, one thing has changed. i am now looking for Mrs. Right  Nod

so is anyone else still single?

You'll find the right one, I know it.  That ocean is pretty deep my friend.

You must track down White Collar.  I think if I were to pick a favorite dreamy actor, mine is Matt Bomber.

Umm, I know Matthew Bomer, I think I would faint if I ever met the man, so damned hot! We watched the first season of White Collar but it just wasn't holding our attention (it's really hard to follow the plot when you are hypnotised by those eyes!)

B xxx

Well, then you will love this story.  A mama friend I made online when pregnant with Andrew (yes I confess, I was cheating on the org at a mama forum during that time.)  She has twins and they have had a few acting gigs. In fact they were in an episode of The Americans (I did watch a few eps to see them.)  AND they were also in Winter's Tale and Matt Bomber was their daddy!  She has pics of them with him and talk about JEALOUS.  I have to admit it, I was a little sad he is gay, it sort of ruined a little of the crush for me.

Brrrr it's so chilly. I was in Melbourne up until last week. I had been there for 1 month, it was meant to be a year but my Nanny job didn't work out.

Maybe we crossed paths and didn't even know it!

Now you have me curious about the nanny job...bratty child, sleazy dad, my brain is in overdrive!

I agree, do dish!  Leave no detail out.
13  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: What other TV shows do GG fans watch? on: July 09, 2015, 01:23:07 pm
Nicely done Mel Smiley
Why thanks. *bow* *curtsey*

I haven't watched West wing but love Scandal and House of Cards so I should probably give it a go!

I haven't watched those ... LOL!  Did I mention Rob Lowe?

Trying to think what the dance show could have been but I'm drawing a blank. Was it a reality series or an actual show?
It was a show, only a season to two long.  Teens going to a dance academy, teen drama and a world dance competition. I'll check my old queue one of these days.

I posted my list in another thread last month but I just tracked it down Smiley
I knew you had, i JUST couldn't remember where ... this fit the topic. Wink

Covert Affairs (Though watching her run around in Louboutin's breaks my heart. I just bought some top quality knock offs and I wont even be running in them!!)
Grey's Anatomy (But I'm about a season behind)

You must track down White Collar.  I think if I were to pick a favorite dreamy actor, mine is Matt Bomber. Plus I love the writing on this show and it's fun seeing 'Kelly' on it.
I do admit I also watched all of Greys and now I do keep up with it.  I enjoy Covert Affairs, but I am not sure how current I am. The plot was starting to lose my attention.

The rest on your list, I haven't watched.  I know many obsessed with Walking Dead, but I'm no where near a zombie fan or graphic show fan like G of T.

I am a geek so I love Agents of Shield.

Just poping in at the old hang, to dream of bygones, and see who's still 'round this here fine establishment.
The chairs are mostly up, and there's a fine gray-white over all, save the bar...

Are you having a go at my cleaning habits? I have been doing my best man but this forum is huge! You finish cleaning all the threads, by the time you come back to the first one it is all cobwebs, dust and mildew again!

I think a bird broke in here too, I'm sure it was birdy kaka I have been cleaning up today!

Stay warm my friend! We are in the grips of winter too, news is predicting the worst cold snap in five years this weekend with areas just below the snow line (read: where I live) possibly getting snow for the first time in decades.

Ok, me and my mop and bucket are out of here!

HIIIII

Thanks so much for your message QweenB! I am glad to see the site is experienceing a revival of sorts. I have to say I have really missed it here. Hope all of you are well. Lots has happened since I was last super active here. Anyway I will be back tomorrow to have another look around and post some replies. By the way its also winter here in New Zealand and I am frozen lol.

Woot woot!  Welcome back, B, deserves another stalker award.  Please forgive me, but remind me of your name.  Wink
15  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: Off Topic Thread - Because a lot has happened! on: July 08, 2015, 07:11:00 pm
Many consider me younger than I am, and I always tend to dress up a little nicer and work extra hard to prove my worth.
That's the feeling I get too, from you, Melissa. And that's through a dead cold terminal. Keep spreading that light.

Ah you think I'm young and a hard worker.  So kind of you.  Kiss

Wow the imagery here ... have you considered writing? Wink :two cents:
According to the public education system I can't read or write, nor am I too able to do anything. Pretty stupid, really. So I kind'a think you might be mistaken, Melissa Wink
For less snarkyness: Yep. I would love that. But it normally turn out crazy. I had an LJ at one time. I believe only Sternen-meer got to read it. I know I have some prints. Might share the madness some time.
Oh, and *hug* Thank you Smiley
Don't get me started on how standardized tests and regular grades rarely tell the real story behind talent and worth of a student.  Anyone can put their mind to achieving a dream, they just need to make it a priority and not be afraid of asking for help.  Underneath your facade of cool GG-manliness you have always have very deep profound thoughts.  I'd love to see you work on writing something.  I know there are at least 30 of us who would buy it. And now with how many online platforms there are, publishing is pretty easy.  Go for it, if you want!!!

I better go fix lunch for my kids .....
Your like such a mom
And yes, I admit I'm guilty of popping on here with the intention of getting off once he got home from the bus.  Yet the bus was early so I plopped back on, and guilty again of making him wait a little and ask a few times before making that sandwich.  But before you rush to judgements, I did save him a smoothie from earlier for when he walked in the door.   Drink

*Why 9? Because I'm laid back like that Cool
