The older Gilmore is getting to be a little on the chubby side. I'm not enjoying the show as much this year. Someone needs to give Laura a good telling off, perferably her mother. A good dose of reality would be good. How about her parents cut her off and she learns to pay for everything herself.
(Please remember that GilmoreGirls.org is a completely unofficial fansite. It is in no way affiliated with Warner Bros., Gilmore Girls, or anyone on the cast and crew.)
First of all, exactly which “older Gilmore” do you feel is becoming “chubby?” Sure, the Gilmore clan sits down for regular Friday night meals, but chubby is taking things a little far. Let’s go over the possibilities:
Richard (Grandpa) Gilmore has always been big boned. But then again, Edward Herrmann is 6’5’’ so that is rather understandable. Also, that “big boned-ness” gives Richard a nice grandfatherly look. It’s perfect for when he’s proud about something; he can puff out his chest.
Emily (Grandma) Gilmore is the epitome of what all grandmothers should look like. Certainly she burns enough calories; from her strenuous social schedule, to the firing and rehiring of house staff, to her “enthusiastic discussions” with Lorelai, Emily rarely has time to sit down. Furthermore, Kelly Bishop played Marjorie Houseman in the 1987 classic, Dirty Dancing. This means that she played the mother figure of Frances “Baby” Houseman. Enough said.
Lorelai Gilmore “is one hot momma” according to another e-mail GilmoreGirls.org received this week. But even with that fact aside, could she be chubby? Preposterous! In a recent article, Entertainment Weekly stated that the average American woman is 5'4'' and a size 14. So if that is average, wouldn’t someone have to be over a size 14 to be chubby? Lauren Graham is hardly a size 14 and is a good 5 inches taller than 5’4’’.
Now, regarding "Laura" needing a “good telling off,” you’re most likely referring to Lorelai. If you've watched the previous seasons of Gilmore Girls, which it sounds like you have, you should have realized that Lorelai receives regular doses of reality, especially from her mother. In addition, Lorelai has already learned to pay for everything herself (with the obvious exception of Rory’s schooling). She was the one who cut her own parents off when she was sixteen, not the other way around.

Who is this person that said Lorelai is fat? Give me his address, I’m gonna go over there and pop him one.

Ok. So before i say anything else, I just have to say that your site is wonderful! Ok now to the not so posiive suff! Last weeks email of the week made me kind of mad, i know you didn't write it, but i was kind of dissapointed that you even put it on the site. First off, who is Laura? Did the writer of that even watch the show?!?! and if he/she did mean Lorelai, why didn't they just say that? Too lazy to type three more letters?
And please don't even get me started on the "chubby" Gilmore, oh wait i've already started, so i might as well continue. Ok i am going to stop here and say thanks for responding and saying none of them are chubby. I mean, if the writer of that email is less "chubby" than any of the Gilmores, they must be anorexic!!! People wonder why so many young girls are starving themselves these days? maybe its becasue they see things like that email saying that very talented actors who are far from "chubby" need to lose weight. AHH sorry, i am on a roll. But one more thing, Lorelai's parents haven't cut her off yet, but they don't pay for much. Rory's school, the termite problem, that is pretty much all. I am beginning to wonder if the writer of that email even watches Gilmore Girls!! Ok that's all, i am done now, thanks for having the paitence to read this whole long rambling Email, and i'm really not usually this negative.
